MONDA

Postby aquaman » Sun Jan 16, 2011 6:32 pm

Anyone live near here ? We are viewing a camp house with 4,000 sq m land, is there a minimum requirement fo this type of house, don' t want to buy anything not legal. It's not a new house. Has the Mayor in Monda been involved in anything a 'bit dodgy' like most of the other Mayors .....

It depends when it was built. If the escritura of new building was granted prior to the end of 2002 it could be legal. If it is since then it is likely to be illegal and registered as an agricultural building rather than a dwelling.

If you have not already done so you need to obtain a nota simple from the property registry in Coín or online and get someone who knows what to look for to check it for you.
Let's go Brandon!

We have a campo house in Monda with some land, not the size of yours but we had our lawyer in Marbs check all the paperwork first with no probs. Have not heard anything untoward about the mayor. He was one of the maun driving forces behind seeting up and English speaking "desk" in the town hall due to the number of expats in Monda and the surrounding area. There was an article in Sur sometime ago on this subject.
