Has anyone else received a text message supposedly from Endesa, mobile number +215010 offering 10% off of their next years electric bill just by replying "SI" ???
Or is this a con?
Endesa and 10% discount
Re: Endesa and 10% discount
I haven't received one and it does sound unlikely. Having said that, I haven't received this month's online bill yet which is also unusual.

No only electric, strange that nobody else has received this.
Re: Endesa and 10% discount
I just switched to Iberdrola and saved 10% anyway
Re: Endesa and 10% discount
Is it easy to switch to Iberdrola?beachbabe wrote:I just switched to Iberdrola and saved 10% anyway
What are the advantages, besides the 10% discount?
Cheers

Re: Endesa and 10% discount
Their offer applies to the Gas and Electric offering and the saving only applies to the standing charge. 10% off electric and 30% off gas.
There is little difference between the cost per unit of electricity but the Iberdrola standing charge is higher so even with the discount Endesa is cheaper (just).
Remember that the tariff for small users is still controlled by the government so the companies have very little room to maneuver on prices.
If you are on the off peak tariff or are contracted for more than 10kw then there is a bit more variation but these offers are only short lived.

So price wise not a lot of difference.
How about customer support?

Re: Endesa and 10% discount
Well it depends who you listen to. I have heard horror stories about Iberdrola just as bad a Endesa.
Iberdrola have a much better website and it's in English. When I changed from Endesa it took me 6 months to try and get an Endesa Free Market contract - they just ignored everything I tried and kept putting up the price!
I gave up in the end and went to Iberdrola which was so easy - they even answer email in English same day! Their off peak rate was about 25% cheaper than Endesa but after the first 12 months it went up to the same as Endesa.
The bills arrive online on the day of the meter reading and I have had no problems at all. Our meter has always been read on time every 2 months even though we are in the Campo. I assume, as Endesa is the local supplier, they are still responsible for meter reading but then they have always done it OK.
I was forced to change to a free market contract as I have over 10kw but for the average user I have yet to see a good reason for changing.
This could all change when they remove the government controlled TUR tariff but that just means you will have to choose which company increases its prices the least!

Looks like a scam - is it anything at all to do with Endesa?

Re: Endesa and 10% discount
I was convinced to switch to Iberdrola by Marrelo Solutions in Nerja because they said it would save me 10%.
I obviously didn't ask enough questions because I've just received my first Iberdrola bill and it is 10% - but only off the Potencia charge! My Potencia charge (4,4kW) is about 7,50€ month.
So I get to save 75c a month
