Renta 2011

Postby gerryh » Tue Apr 10, 2012 5:39 pm

Just downloaded and installed Renta 2011
There appears to be an option to part fill the form from the Renta 2010 declaration.
My Spanish isn't very good.
When I click this option and look in the folder I have last year's declaration in, amongst other files, no files are displayed.
What am I doing wrong?
Cheers

Can you give us a link to what you have downloaded and installed?

Here is the link:-
http://www.agenciatributaria.es/AEAT.in ... adre.shtml
Please don't take this the wrong way but I didn't include the link because I thought that anybody who could answer my question would already know where to get the Renta 2011 program.

As far as I'm concerned Gerry you're probably right!

Sorry I can't be of any help.

I've never managed to do it in the past so I just re-enter the personal data again.

I will have a go again when I get round to downloading PADRE.

Have you noticed any changes to the program?

I haven't looked at it in detail yet, waiting for the experts to look at it first.
I'm on holiday in Portugal at the moment, will have a closer look when I get home.

I pay my gestor €35 to do this. Life's too short to bother with form-filling.

I decided to do it myself and save myself the fine I got when my gestor gave my very bad advice.

My gestor has saved us thousands of euros. We have been with this firm since 1987.

You're lucky - most charge at least €100 - sometimes more and that's per person!

It's an absolute con. Your gestor is charging you the right amount - it takes less than 30 minutes work for a double declaration.

Blimey!

I can't find anyone that cheap - or effective.

Where in Frigi does he or she hang out?

I make an appointment at the Tax Office and they do it for me, cost - nothing!

My tax office is in Malaga. Once I've spent money on diesel and car parking - along with the hassle - I'd rather someone else did it.

Mowser, fair enough although, as I understand it you can make a declaration at any tax office. Is the one in Vélez -Málaga that far from Frigiliana?

Fair point, for the sake of €35 I don't think I would be bothered with the hassle of the forms etc. Now for €100 it would be a different story! Fortunately my local tax office is fairly close so I can combine the annual visit with doing other things in the town for the modest cost of a coffee.

As I was quoted 175 + IVA for a tax return I thought I'd do it myself and the first hurdle I have come across is the conversion of UK income in pounds into Euros. Anyone know what rate the Hacienda require/use?

You can use what is appropriate to the actual earnings. For example if you are talking about regular income then you can use the average for the year or if it suits you better and the income came at various times and in different amounts you can use the rate at the time the income was generated.

You only submit the income in Euros so how you arrived at it is not too relevant unless they specifically ask you in the future how you arrived at it.

The average figure for last year was €1.1523/£1

Thank you.

It may seem a stupid question, but what do I do with the form once it is completed?

If you do it yourself the computer prints out 2 sets of form which you take to your bank. You can pay by credit card or in two instalments, the second (40%) in November. I assume that if you do it at the tax office they just give you the forms for payment at the bank.

It is possible to pay it and submit the whole thing online if you have a digital certificate but I prefer to have a proper receipt from the bank.
