We've banked with Unicaja since we originally bought in Spain 11 years ago. No problems.
We get a monthly/bi monthly? statement to our UK address here. We also only keep a bare minimum in....ie no spends, just purely to cover utility bills and taxes all on DD.
So, here's the question. We thought it would be handy to view account online, and transfer monies etc, therefore last November we went into to our branch and told them this.......no probs.
They gave us a shed load of paperwork/pins/instructions etc. and said "that's all you need to set it up when you get home"
However, other things took over and we never did set it up ........now we've just realised we've not had a statement this year, so the question is.....Would they stop sending out the statements because we've asked for this?
Anyhow the favour bit , just got the paperwork out and clear as mud springs to mind..........anyone here set up a Unicaja online banking thing and would possibly PM me for a chat and a bit of info on setting it up and what you can do with it when live?
We need to pay a bill now and have no idea what is in the account
Many thanks in advance.
A question about Unicaja online and a favour maybe.

We have a Unicaja account. My wife did the setting up. Our user names were set up as our Passport numbers and we selected our own passwords. It works very well, except I forgot my password so I always sign in under my Wife's account.

email your branch or phone them for a balance. Or write them a letter, if they won't oblige due to security.
Next time you're in Spain go to your branch, sit down with the clerk and they will set up on line access, including paawords etc. I've used it for 8 years with no problem.
As an aside I now use currencyfair.com for converting and transferring currency and have done for over a year. Very good and better rates than banks or the money broker specialists.

Re: A question about Unicaja online and a favour maybe.
We've used Univia (online Unicaja ) for years now - not sure if I can remember how it was set up, but I'm very familiar with using it
Even tho we have online access, we still get the paper statements sent to our UK address, so I'm not sure why yours have stopped...
If you want to pm me, I'd be happy to help if I can
edit:
just had a look at Unicaja website, and there's an online form you can fill in to apply for online access - https://www.unicaja.es/PortalServlet;js ... 2116715791. Mine came up in English (well, sort of ) - if yours doesn't there is an option to change it in the top tight hand corner
One last thought - you will need a 'matrix' card with codes on to verify any withdrawal / transfer / mobile phone topup etc, and as an extra security check (especially for large amounts), they randomly send another code to your SPANISH mobile - if you don't have one that could be a problem....

Many thanks for input guys. I'll have another go at setting this up shortly and report back. Interesting Chrissie that you still get the paper statements, last one we got after checking was November.
I thought it was because we'd said we we're going online,or even perhaps cost cutting issues, obviously not. May call them on the phone, however it was a struggle last time I tried this, even though my Spanish is bueno-ish

If you need that bill paid quickly, FAX your branch - they need your signature (an email won't do).
I had a similar problem, my online set up failed, but the manager happily paid the bill on receipt of my fax.

I just noticed your location DA - if it is Competa branch, the fax number is 952 516 055, and Francisco was the contact.
