So at long last its open. Apparently it opened the day after I returned to Ireland. Anyone here use it ? Has it made a big difference ?

According to the news...no. Seems ok for through traffic but the bad layout has caused traffic queues to enter the area and have backed up as far as Banus.

Well I'm in favour. Time it right and you can get from Marbella to Estepona without using the brake pedal. There are still some things going right around these parts.

I have used it a few times so far with no issues - beats sitting in all those roadworks for sure!

Set off this morning from my house at the top end of Nueva Andalucia at 09:10, drove to Estepona town centre to drop somebody off. I was back in the office in Puerto Banus at 09:45 (I wasn´t speeding either, much better than before. I´m happy using the tunnel, think it´s ten time better than before. The back log in general is becuase a lot of people don´t know the new road layout around there now due to the changes. Give a little time and it will settle down.
Oh Yes! another day in paradise!

Now in English. I was thinking of putting a link to this site on the comments and telling them they are making it up

As one local guy said "We have waited 15 years for this and it's all turned out the same"
