The changes for me have been the massive building projects, coastal and inland. Some places I haven't recognised if I haven't visited them for a couple of years.

The biggest change of all is the Spanish people!

Things must have changed since I left the UK. NHS dentists ALWAYS charged for teeth removal.
Then again, I was never pregnant!
Nothing has changed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you ever qualified as below. She gets free prescriptions anyway.
Free dental care and free prescriptions are available to all mums-to-be and new mums (of babies up to a year old), regardless of income
Erm... Frank. That's what I said..

Katy, in which way do you think the Spanish people have changed, can you elaborate a bit ? Even in my 12 years, I think I have seen a few changes and am interested to see if you concur.
Obviously, there have been changes in education in the past 20 years, living standards and all this will have a knock on effect. The changes I have seen are in the youngsters in particular.

You must have seen a lot - I know you were here a long time. How long if you don't mind me asking.... all very relevant to the discussion.

And you said things must have changed, they haven't. As I said she'd recently had a baby, so it's free, always has been.

Roads did get a lot better. Upkeep didn't improve though so they are getting worse again.

I believe she was "here" 60 years !

Reported today that 11% of Italian families are living in poverty. I wonder what the figure is for Spain ?

Fresh milk also in Lidl and Eroski. Our local Coviran used to sell it but they didn't seem to understand sell by dates. Nearly bought some 4 weeks out of date. The lumpiness of it made me look at the date. Guess they didn't sell enough to make it worth while and no longer have it.

IKEA, although not sure if that is a positive step forward, until you get to the exit!

"Spain's banks have 155.84bn euros (£122bn) of loans on their books that are at risk of not being repaid, the highest level since 1994, official figures show"

Ouch, that has changed. The eur 30 billion baleout will hardly make a dint.

In addition, the euro 30 billion bailout will hardly make a dent.

The banks are starting to offer commission free banking- if your wages/pension are paid into the bank and at least 2 utility bills paid by direct debit (BBVA and Unicaja)

The main road ´up the west side´ of Spain from Sevilla is now a motorway all the way up   Makes driving north a pleasure
