Amendment to FAQ done.

I have re-read your post and I am not sure if you mean you didn't save the PDF of the tax return or of the certificate of payment.

If you meant the tax return you could find the saved file in C:\AEAT\210 but when you regenerate the PDF it will have a different serial number. The original may be lurking in a temp folder somewhere. Try a search from the 'Start' menu (Search programs and files) by entering the NIE number, for example, X1234567G.pdf or just scan it back into the computer as a PDF document.

Alternatively you should be able to to find a copy of both the tax return and the payment receipt on the AEAT site by using one of these links:

https://www1.agenciatributaria.gob.es/e ... cn00c.html

or:

Hi Beachcomber et al

Just a quick word of thanks - yet again - for your perfect instructions on the FAQ's for Non-Resident Income Tax

I still encountered the usual error problems with Firefox, but tried with IE, which worked perfectly first time - PDF's all downloaded, saved and printed, and we will add the NIE's as required, sign and date, and take to the bank to pay - sometime in December methinks. One less chore to do......

Grateful thanks, once again

Vincent

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for flagging up Firefox.............what version did you try it on. :?:

I've just run through the procedure with Windows 7 , Firefox 24.0. WITH OUT setting the about:config as per FAQ's and it went through and generated the Form correctly.

It also works if the about:config is set as per FAQ's

There are the usual warning messages, and it likes you to allow the Java Deployment ToolKit......

Hi Enrique

This is where I struggle as a non-techy.....

I am running Windows 7 on a 64bit (whatever that means) laptop, and I didn't do the about:config thingy because the faq's said that it wasn't now necessary

But how do I check which version of Firefox I am running, please? and how do I check whether I have allowed Java Development ToolKit?

Thanks for your interest

Vincent

Hi Vincent,
Firefox to check version..........Click on Firefox tab ->Help-> About Firefox

When the form loads a box pops up top left to allow "Java deployment Toolkit", it is a Plug-in in my Firefox Browser and its set to ask before using..........

Hi Again Enrique

Checked Firefox, and it's version 24......

When I open the Form in Firefox from the link on the faq's, I get the message -

"El navegador no dispone de Máquina Virtual Java

Su navegador no dispone de Máquina Virtual Java instalada o ésta no está habilitada.

Puede descargarse la última versión de Java en http://java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/Bro ... t=java.com.
"

and when I close this meaage, the Form opens, but will not then progress to the PDF stage, whereas with IE there is no such message, and it eventually will go to the PDF stage.....

Could this message be indicating the problem - something to do with Java?

Thanks again

Vincent

Hi Enrique

Magic!

Just downloaded and enabled Java (to always ask!) - and the Form 210 works on my Firefox browser!

I really am very grateful - another satisfied Forumista!!!!

Have a good weekend.....

(and indeed over the weekend, there will now be a teach-in on this very topic, at my local bar! I feel somewhat guilty about the number of complementary glasses of Rioja on the horizon)

Just like to thank those on the forum who helped me in preparing my non - resident income tax form.

When I was over in Spain the other week I presented the form to my bank and they processed it without any problems.

Many thanks once again

Just completed 210 following BCs excellent instructions (thanks) and printed then off one for my wife and one for myself pages just need to be signed and dated but BC you say that the NIE no. has to be put on the "document de ingresio" what is that - -the nie is incorporated in the printed barcode top left surely?

Yes, but only on the page containing your details and the calculations etc. The space for the NIE on both copies of the documento de ingreso is blank and it has to be entered by hand.

BC thanks for the reply. At the risk of appearing thick which I possibly am! Is the document de ingresio simply the three pages of form 210? On the first page top left is printed my nie number and name (no barcode), on the second page top left is printed my name and a barcode (which presumably is my NIE in barcode format) and the third page is similar to the second with my printed name and the barcode (again NIE in barcode format). The doesn't seem to be anywhere to physically write the numbers etc of the NIE again or does it have to be written somehow next to this barcode?

The documento de ingreso has 'documento de ingreso o devolución' written on it at the top within the heading of the form and there are two identical copies of it one with a large letter F towards the top right hand corner.

Just to the left of your name and the barcode is a space in which to write your NIE. It actually says NIF and next to it is the space to write your NIE. On the first page there is, as you say, no barcode just your name and your NIE number

Thanks for reply BC. There is a very tiny space to fit the nie but I reckon I could just about fit it but there is no 'documento de ingresio' written at the top of any of the three pages - maybe its changed recently - - anyway the 3 pages of the form 210 seem to be OK as per your instructions so I guess it will all be OK. Many thanks for your help! Bob

I have just printed some out today and at the top of pages two and three of the form in white print on an amber background (or grey if you have printed the forms in grey scale) it says:

Impuesto sobre la Renta de no
Residentes

No residentes sin establecimiento permanente
DOCUMENTO DE INGRESO O DEVOLUCIÓN

as per pages 10 and 11 of this PDF:

Example in Spanish

Hi BC, I have solved the problem. On the English version that I have used it only says
at the top right "Non Residents Income Tax" then underneath "Non Residents without permanent establishment" - it doesn't have the extra "document de ingreso o devolucion" (or the English translation). And as far as the space for the NIF at top left, on the Spanish version it just says NIF but on the English one it says NIF and "tax identification number" which does not leave much space to actually write the number. I have presumed that I could use the English version to pay at the bank - am I mistaken? Bob

No, you can use the English version but neither the form nor the instructions are translated very well. You would have thought that if they were going to go to the trouble of translating it they would have had it done professionally.

Does anyone else use Safari on a Mac? If so have you upgraded to OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and Safari 7.0?

I've just done so and checked to see if Modelo 210 still worked OK. I had to update Java before the form would download properly but then found that when I went to import file data the aeat folder shows as being empty even though it is not - I checked using Finder.

I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has this problem.

Many Thanks.
