Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
Ok experts, see if you can figure this...
I have just completed form 210 for me (house and separate garage) and wife (house only)
For the garage I populated the 2015 form with the saved 2014 data and validated with no problem. For my wife's share of the house I populated the 2015 form with the saved 2014 data and validated with no problem.
Then I tried to populate my share of the house 2015 form with 2014 data. And I could not validate. The system could not reconcile the NIE and name of the taxpayer with that of the house owner - even though all fields were identical. Deleting the NIE and name and re-entering them also lead to the same error message. In the end I had to complete a full form from scratch in order to avoid the error message and achieve validation.
Just another little glitch.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
Could it be related to my anagrama being changed. On this year's form 210 the anagrama is printed next to the bar code. This is eminently sensible as 90% of the time the bank could not scan form 210's barcode.
My wife's anagrama remains ASH Z, the same as on the old etiquetas issued by the tax office. However my anagrama has changed from ASH L, to DAV K.
Does anyone know any possible reason for this?

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
Sounds as though the police have been meddling with your fiscal data and have transposed your surname and your Christian name. The anagrama is made up of the first three letters of your surname plus a control digit. From your username I assume your Christian name is DAVid.
Other non-resident taxpayers have also been affected in a similar manner as a result of police interference with tax records. You should go to the tax office and resolve this matter otherwise you may have a problem proving the payment of previous taxes should the need arise.
Just imagine the UK police being able to access and change your HMRC data!

Well I won't be hurrying down to the tax office. I have comprehensive evidence of annual tax payments. I do remain curious as to why the cops changed my anagrama - am I under suspicion of money laundering or some other financial misdeed? Or did they just consider it an amusing diversion one Friday afternoon.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
You anagrama was undoubtedly changed because they have mixed up your surname and your Christian names. They would have entered the part of your name which begins with DAV as your surname and that automatically generates the anagrama.
Similar things have happened to about a dozen people that I know including other members of this forum and one person who was told that his NIE number, which he has had since around 1990, has had to be changed because there was someone else with the same number. He now has a completely new number but both AEAT and DGP insist that it is not their responsibility and will not give him a letter confirming that he had a different number up until last year.
The old number is shown on his escritura, his will, his bank accounts, electricity and water etc as well as several other documents including his driving licence which DGT will not change without proof that he used to have one number and has now been given another. What happens when he next gets stopped by the guardia and they find that his NIE number on record with DGP does not correspond with that on his driving licence is anybody's guess.
No-one will accept responsibility for this error and he is now living in a kind of limboland as far as the Spanish authorities are concerned.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
Hi guys. I'm wondering if I'm in any trouble here. Here's what happened...
I have actual rental income for our place in Spain, so I fill out and pay with Form 210 quarterly. I usually pay first using this page: https://www.agenciatributaria.gob.es/AE ... ZI01.shtml
Then, I get the NRC from the payment and use that to fill out and send the Form 210 electronically.
The problem was that for Q4 of 2015, I did the payment on time (i.e on Jan. 11), but somehow forgot to send the Form 210. I finally realized and sent in the Form 210 on Feb. 22, using the previously received NRC. It was accepted no problem.
My question is: Am I going to have any problems as a result of the late filing of the Form 210? I haven't heard anything so far from AEAT about this. I also paid and filed Form 210 for Q1 2016 no problem.
Also. Just wanted to confirm that my rate for this year is 24%? I am non-EU resident.
Thanks.
Eric S.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
Hi elusive,
Its not based on the "value" of the property but the Valor Catastral that is on the IBI Bill from the Town Hall
See FAQ for how the bottom line is arrived at.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax
The multiplier to obtain the taxable base is only 1,1% 1f the municipality in which the property is located has revised its valores catastrales within the ten years prior to the fiscal year being declared otherwise it is 2%. Previously the cut-off date was 1994.

Hi Enrique
It's a very interesting site, but I can' find any page with the co-efficient on ! I have found a 'coeficiente de participacion' on my catastral page, which is given as 100,000000 - do you think this is 1% ?

Chrissiehope,
If you are in the municipality of Antequera your last revision was in 2013 so your multiplier to obtain the taxable base will be 1,1% of the valor catastral.
