Meeting place in Marbella?

Postby Marina » Sat Jun 15, 2013 6:03 pm

I need to meet someone in Marbella to collect a dog that I will be re-homing. The dog needs to get along with mine, so ideally I would like to meet somewhere where we can walk the dogs together as that is the best way to introduce them.
Neither of us know the area so we need somewhere easy to find.
Can anyone suggest anywhere that would be good please?

The Skol Building is an old apartment block on the seafront not far from the Tourist Office. It's a landmark for locals. There's an underground car park in the street at the side of the building. From there you can walk along the Promenade all the way (3km) to Puerto Banus. There and back makes enough time for the dogs to get to know each other, I think. Only problem, this time of year, is little shade in the day so an early or late walk might be best.

Thanks. I should have said though that I need somewhere not too busy. My dog is a rescue dog and still a"work in progress". If there are too many other dogs around on leads he gets over excited.

My project for this summer is to get him socialised, but for this meeting I need to keep him calm.

I understand but I can't think of many places in Marbella that are calm during the summer. Sorry.

Three Km's further on the road to San pedro and a lovely long quiet and big prom. Simples.

Marbella is very proud of the Dog Park which has just been opened in Nagueles. Quite a large area of woodland and a smaller area where they have different things - tunnel, seesaw, etc for the dogs to train and play on.
Would be a great place for you to introduce the dogs - hope I`m not posting too late.

Not too late at all, thank you. It sounds ideal

Is it easy to find from the N340?

If you google " El fuerte de nagueles ", you will be able to get a map. I think the easiest way is to take the road which begins as Avenido de Jaime de Moro by Corte Ingles (Marbella not Puerto Banus). Drive straight up until you come to Urb. Sierra Blanca - turn left and drive straight to the end until you get to Nagueles - turn left and drive down to entrance of El Fuerte de Nagueles. There are signs saying No Dogs allowed but you are now allowed in with dogs on leads as it`s the only way to get to the dog park which is at the far end. It`s opened very recently so directions not organized yet.
Hope that helps.

Well that was the perfect place to meet. :) What a wonderful park! Every area should have one. It was so nice to let the dogs run free and get to know each other. Thank you.
