I just bought one of these to split a tap between a regular hose and an auotmated watering system:

The problem is that it seems to have split the pressure in half or more - this is even if I only have 1 of the taps turned on. Is there ay reason why this would happen? I figured that the pressure would be the same if only 1 tap was on at 1 time.
Would this be any better: http://catalogo.aki.es/jardin/riego-y-a ... e/idp11077
It's quite expensive for a splitter though.

Re: tap splitter
hmmmm I do exactly the same but with the Gardenia version - I don't have any issues with the pressure until like you say you have all outlets on, so if I am automatically watering the trees, and I turn the hose on then the hose pressure is low as are the sprinklers, but if I only use one or the other then it's fine
Re: tap splitter
I can only guess that the model of splitter you have has much narrower gauge through flow than the pipes it is attached to, thus reducing the pressure via a single outlet.
An outside chance is that one or both of the rotary tap knobs are not fully actuating, again causing restricted flow.
The second splitter you link to would certainly not have such a problem.
