Warm weather?
Warm weather?
Does anyone else feel that October is warmer than normal this year? Or is it just me!

Re: Warm weather?
Both warmer and drier, we are finding. We had a couple of heavy rain showers during the night one day in late September, but other than that, no rain at all.
We're not usually still wearing summer clothes by this time of year, but this year we are. I went and got a load of winter clothes like trousers and a coat dry cleaned at the beginning of September and needn't have been in such a rush.
It has got noticeably cooler during the night and very early morning just since the start of October, but daytime temperatures are still between 26-30C.

Re: Warm weather?
The long range forecast suggests it will stay pretty warm until about 23rd when it will cool down and possibly rain.
It's certainly warmer than usual for October. The lack of rain is also unusual as it tends to rain starting around the second week of the month.

The locals call it "verano de membrillo" - their equivalent of our "Indian summer".

Not around here.HKM wrote:Does anyone else feel that October is warmer than normal this year?
It's warmer than October 2012, but well within the range of normal for nid-October.
This week in 2004 had temperatures over 30°C, so the 25-ish's we're getting are about normal.

Re: Warm weather?
Inland Granada is a special case - very warm in summer and very cold in winter so October is always going to be an "in between" month.
On the coast it has been over 28ºc every day this month and the maximum was 33.8ºc on the 2nd. It was 29ºc today.
The mean temperature is currently a full 3ºC more than last year. OK it will drop a bit by the end of the month but unless it gets very much colder it will be a record month.

It's usually pretty much the same here as on the beach. Winds differ a bit though.
