Dec 2013 state pension payment

Postby alisonb » Thu Dec 19, 2013 1:44 pm

State pension has just gone into Cajamar - well I assume that's what it is. Rather than saying "PENSION - STATE PENSION AND WI", which is what it has always said, it now says "transfer - worldlink". Have they changed the method of payment?

Its probably to do with SEPA. Single European Payment Area. Which obviously excludes UK and sterling area.
Check your virtual mailbox on your online Cajamar account.
Its to do with speeding up and reducing costs of payments within the euro area (plus a few others), using IBAN instead of Swift and BIC etc

Just goooooogle SEPA for a fun afternoon.

My next payment is due on the 24th. Will that be a bank payment day or will I have to wait until after Christmas?

Looked at the detail underlying the payment, and there's no mention of it being a pension, although it does give a reference. I'm sure that's what it is, but they could have given a bit more info
