I like the way the spanish say " it dropped " as opposed to I dropped it

Re: Spanish for 'oops'
Good morning Julie, Good to see you back.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Literal translation is "It has dropped itself." However, due to the way Spanish expresses the passive voice, it doesn't mean that.
It actually means "It has been dropped" or "It got dropped".

Re: Spanish for 'oops'
Hi mark
I have been here all the time i just don't comment as much now as I felt sometimes people were just bitching instead of being constructive but im here ha ha !
yes i know the exact translation, but i tend to just change what i say into my way of thinking, i never translate the exact words, that doesn't work for me.
Great to see we didnt loose the tv in spain, although a pain for visitors who don't have access to internet

Another safe word to use is 'vaya'
Re: Spanish for 'oops'
My wife, who is Spanish, says "ay!" or "ay va!". And instead of the "c" word, she says "contra!"

Mmmm - they look rather like shortbread
I'm trying to resisit the temptation to make a comment about pigeons & Spanish, but I'm not sure I'm winning....
