Bankia - do you have to take their home insurance?

Postby kerrymc » Tue Feb 03, 2015 4:23 pm

Hi, I have a mortgage with Bankia and they provided me with home insurance (with an affiliated company) a few years ago. I've recently been offered a much better insurance deal with Intasure and have tried contacting Bankia to ask them to cancel the insurance I currently have (with Plus Ultra ) but they are VERY reluctant to do this, despite having emailed all the documentation to them. Intasure specialise in second homes abroad but a Bankia employee told me the home insurance has to be with a Spanish company - does anyone know if this is true as I feel like they are trying to fob me off? This has been going on for 9 months so any help greatly appreciated!

My spelling is Wobbly. It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.
