Anyone know if it is possible to buy smoked haddock in Andalucia? Please tell me where thanks
Re: Smoked Haddock
At Iceland, or Overseas as they sometimes call themselves, frozen, or Gibraltar.

I don't think you can get haddock in Spain. We get ours in Morrisons in Gibraltar but they don't always have it.

As ever it depends where you are however Arkwrights used to stock it, better than the Iceland stuff too as it actually tasted of something.

We buy it in Iceland and it is as good as any that I have tasted and I have enjoyed good haddock for years. Make sure it is the Iceland own brand. Some of the other stuff they have stocked in the past is not as good. Their "fresh" haddock is just as good but you must cook it from frozen.
Haddock does not seem to exist in Spain. Odd since the Spanish fishing fleet must catch loads of it.

The German smokehouse at Torrox Costa has it on the menu, although in their advert in one of the freebies, it says you need to preorder.

Re: Smoked Haddock
They will have to find the Haddock before they can smoke it. As I said, Haddock is virtually unobtainable in Spain.
By the time they get fresh fish to smoke it will be past its best.
Just to prove my point, does anyone know the Spanish word for Haddock?
Answers on a postcard please!
Clue, it's much the same as the French word and they don't like Haddock either?

Re: Smoked Haddock
I love smoked haddock, on a bed of spinach and a poached egg on top.when I visit UK, I always have that, with a fresh cream doughnut ( afterwards)
Iceland seems to be the only place you can get it and it is expensive.
I also love plaice, and have never seen it here.
