Hi there,
I currently have a Buildings and Contents Insurance policy for my apartment in Spain with Intasure who are (as I'm no doubt you're aware) British based but I'm wanting to getting insurance with an English speaking Spanish company instead. Can anyone recommend any to me please? Or tell me which ones to avoid...?
Thanks in advance,

Best Spanish Insurance Company for Buildings and Contents
Re: Best Spanish Insurance Company for Buildings and Content
We are with Linea Directa. They have English speaking folk.
Can't say whether good or bad as not had a claim.
Had a claim with Helvetia -Spanish speaking and it didn't go at all well.

I'm with Liberty Insurance, Policy in English, which is useful.
There are links towards the bottom of their Spanish website 'EXPATRIADOS' which open pages in English.

I'm with Liberty Seguros, and they paid a claim, promptly and no quibble
Other insurance companies couldn't match their premiums unless an excess was applied.
Liberty Seguros has no excess on the policy ( unless you ask for one)

I was with Pelayo and they paid out a claim on an attempted burglary with no quibbles. They sent the workman to do the job and paid them direct so that all we had to do was file a police report.

Three buildings and one contents claim with Liberty all rapidly dealt with and no arguments. One hears bad things about Linea Directa for home insurance, seem ok for the motor though.

Thanks everyone - I'll check them out. Just to confirm, I live in England but my property is in Torremolinos so in effect it's a holiday home that I rent out occasionally. Do they provide cover for this situation?
Re: Best Spanish Insurance Company for Buildings and Content
Mine do, the contents claim was while it was rented.

I have a holiday home in Spain(but not rented out) - unless you have a particular reason for wanting a Spanish insurer, there are many companies in UK that cover overseas holiday homes - one big one is Intasure, but I haven't used them for several years. The one I use now is BuytoLet/Quoteline direct, & my premium for current year (2014/5) was £347.14. That's a 4 bed casa de campo with a poolBugsbunny wrote:Thanks everyone - I'll check them out.
