January Sales

Does anyone know when the sales start in Spain - specifically at La Canada and Miramar? Cheers!

And I always thought they put prices up because it's a new sales year!

It's normally the 7th January.

Some shops in Malaga City (Calle Larios) started in december.

Until two years ago, the dates of sales in Spain were controlled by law to two specific periods for the winter and summer sales.

Due to the "crisis" this was changed and shops are free to offer discounts at any time, however the vast majority of the larger enterprises continue to stick to the original dates.

Alot of shops seem to have been on sale for a good month or so

Black Friday was a good example of how the rules have changed.

As I said earlier, the big ones, like El Corte Ingles, still start on the 7th.

We've just been to la Canada today. About half the shops already had sales on. But I wouldn't go - it was packed, parking very difficult, and all the restaurants were full!

I went to Miramar centre in Fuengirola yesterday. The car park was nearly full. About half the shops had sales on - Mango, some items with 40% off, for example.
