Thousands turn down inheritances in Andalucia

Postby katy » Sun Feb 14, 2016 12:34 am

A thousand people in Malaga and 6000 in Andalucia have renounced inheritances because they cannot afford to pay the tax. Article says a property worth 180,000 incurs a tax of 25,000. I wonder why they cannot attach it to the property to be paid when sold.

What happens to the properties then? Do they go to the State?

It will go to the other beneficiaries. If they all turn it down, I assume the state gets it.
