Postby wollie » Sat Sep 03, 2016 3:45 pm

I want to buy an item on ebay, it is priced in ££...
the origin of the item is in Germany so I prefer buy and pay with €€ card..
The seller does not reply to emails as there is too many which is understandable as bit for car
Any ideas out there?

many thanks

What is your €€ card ?
How does he want paying by Paypal, a card purchase or what?
Shouldn't be a problem, I often buy Ebay items priced in £s and pay from a € account or Ebay items priced in €s and pay from a £ account.
Depending on the payment method there might be currency conversion charge.

I have two paypal accounts, one in £ and one in € and prefer to use those for all ebay purchases. I believe it is the safer method.

In what way is it safer to have "two paypal accounts, one in £ and one in € " ?

I have one Paypal account which has my Spanish current account, My UK bank card and my Spanish credit card linked to it.
I select which one I want to use when I pay via Paypal.

Sorry Gerry, a misunderstanding. I simply meant it is safer to use Paypal. I just happen to have two although the UK one should really be closed down.

If you pay in euro on a £ account I’m sure they convert it for you.

I think people misunderstand question.
The seller does not respond to messages due to volume of same and I am ok with this. It is a specialist item so not a load of purchase options.
My question was basically, if there is an option to switch currencies at the end of transaction? like there is on Amazon, it seems not as someone here know if this option available.

You still haven't answered my question as how you are going to pay, by Paypal, bank transfer or what?
Then I, or someone else, can answer your question about how to convert from one currency to another.

Totally agree about buying an item off Ebay using Paypal is the safest option.
Anything that goes wrong with the transaction such as non delivery, incorrect item, counterfeit item etc is fully covered by the Paypal system and you will get your money back.

The merchant selling the item is based in Germany so this is €€€, the item is listed in £££, I just was trying to pay directly to merchant in €€€...
I could pay anyway merchant wanted but they do not reply to messages as volume too high..
It seems what I looking for not an option, the only reason I want to do this is the currency being changed €€€ to £££ and then back to €€€...
Me and bankers not good bedfellows.
Since I posted I have found an original bmw second and this may be a better option as I assuming it be better quality metal.

many thanks

or log into ebay.es and it does the same.. it automatically converts it into the currency of the website that you log in from.

and it will set the pòstage rate to where your "primary" address is.
