The post offices are still open.
I have seen postal delivery vehicles out.
But I am expecting some post which I haven't received yet.

Post offices should be open as they handle lots of giros and other payments.

Our rural area Correo service which normally has deliveries most days is down to deliveries on Mondays and Thursdays plus collection of parcels/ signed for items 11a.m. For half an hour on those days.

Ours is open 8am till 2pm, max 3 people in the shop at any time otherwise wait outside and keep 1 metre apart. Correos Motos are out and about delivering as usual. I had a parcel from amazon yesterday so all looks reasonable.

I'm waiting for 7 packages to arrive.
All from China, some ordered before the Coronavirus outbreak started and some after.
So I expect a delay although I know some of the have arrived in Spain.

Taken from the Correos website:-
"Due to the current state of alarm caused by Covid-19, Correos temporarily suspends all national shipments not covered by the Universal Postal Service. We will keep you informed as soon as the service is activated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. "
Also:-
"The Post offices will open from 09:30 to 12:30 from Monday to Friday (not holidays), keeping all the protocols dictated by the health authorities."
Not sure what the "Universal Postal Service" is.

We didn't think of checking online. So just weekdays until 12:30. I don't suppose we have a lot awaiting us in our post box apart from the usual electricity bill!

It would be very useful if someone can clarify what this actually means please?

We are currently sending essential parcels only via Correos. I am waiting for an Amazon delivery which I will then send to OH in Spain via Royal Mail/ Correos.

Works well apart from the daily collection at a specified time from town hall seems hit and miss with just two days a week which randomly change each week.

Reverse direction has my repeat prescriptions

Sorry if I've missed it here but does anyone have any further information regarding the postal service, I haven't seen any postal delivery workers ot and about and was wondering if they have actually stopped delivering, I know the post offices are still open but how do we know if we have mail, should we be making random stops at the post office or what ? Anyone have first hand knowledge ?

I haven't had any mail since before the lockdown started.
I believe my usual postman collects the mail from the sorting office in Velez Malaga and delivers it in the Cajiz/ Iznate area before opening the office in Iznate from 1:30 to 2:00 PM
There is a notice on the office door that it is temporally closed, so I guess that he isn't delivering.

I have had one item of mail to my Buzon last week - Government pension increase advice.
The couriers seem to be operating normally.

Last week we had an electricity bill and something from the bank. Bank holidays Thursday and Friday this week so just thinking about whether to go to the PO or not tomorrow which will be the last day it's open until next Monday. No news of my card arriving in the UK that was posted 2 weeks ago.

My problem is that I have to sign, in front of accredited witnesses, a document to release some funds in Sweden, they will not accept any internet solution and if the documents are not signed and returned by a certain date it will cost me a financial penalty, very frustrating :-( !
