Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia
With these things I am in the hands of my wife so I've no idea of the cost. I would hope free means free so when you run out, they will issue more. There will be 7.5 million issued so that would need to be divided by the amount of people at pensionable age to those over the age of 65.
Has anybody bought one of those cloth ones I see certain people wearing?

Don't usually pick up on posters spelling mistakes but it is grammargerrynag wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:12 pmIt's the mentality of people like you that worries me. No one suggested that wearing a muzzle would stop you typing.Beachcomber wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 12:31 pmI think the grammar in that sentence is a little defective just like its... oh never mind. It does demonstrate the mentality of these people, though. Even if i did 'worn' a muzzle it would hardly stop me typing would it?
I see that you are more concerned with 'grammer' than 'facts'. Well, I suppose if you haven't got an intelligent response to why you should wear a mask, it's hardly surprising.
Maybe if you spend more time studying science rather than worrying about grammer you might actually be able to make valid arguments, but obviously you are not capable of doing that.
The sad fact is that You People....don't know what you are talking about.

Why did they spend millions on defective masks from China? Wonder who in the Junta has links to this mask making company, is it newly set up?firsttango wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:33 pm Well done to the Junta de Andalucía, and I think a great many of these masks will have been manufactured quite close to you Mark in a place called Etxebarria which has the biggest Mask Manufacturing factory in Spain.

1. No idea, you'd need to ask the relevant procurement dept in Madrid for an answer to that.katy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:56 pmWhy did they spend millions on defective masks from China? 2. Again no idea but direct your question to the Junta and or the company direct (Bexen Medical).
3. No, they have been established and supplying medical equipment and hospital supplies for 40+ years and are based in the Basque country.

Nice one, Katy. Maybe we can have a new thread, “The politics and economics of pandemics” but I think it would be too depressing and just bring out the cynics, like me!

Andalucian boy: 'Dad, how long are we going to have to wear these masks for?'
Andalucian dad: 'Dunno, son. I'm not into politics'.

Probably best to spend all day in the bar and restaurants, then use its 4 hour lifespan whilst walking in the empty campo.

96 cents actually. A number of shops sell packs of 10 for 6 euros. We spray ours with antibac spray and hang them up to dry. That way they last all week as we only go out for an hour or so a few times to do shopping. We're careful handling them and have plastic bags to store them in when we take them off
I have just bought some cloth ones from C&A and Dunnes. Unfortunately they'd sold out of the pretty ones my friend bought last week. Only problem is that the elastic is really tight! I may need to replace that. We were looking at all the different styles that people were wearing in El Ingenio today. One was a super duper blingy ones .... good for a night out!

Yes, good video and article.
I actually thought as The Basque Country likes do to things different from the rest of Spain, there was a small chance that masks might not have to be worn at all times but from tomorrow we join most other areas and have to wear one more or less in most situations.
The truth is that governments are stuck between a rock and a hard place, If they do nothing, and there is a second wave, they wont be able to use a lack of knowledge the second time around.

Just come back from Cáceres. Most people were wearing masks but several small groups of teenage males were not wearing them, even under their chins. Teenage girls seemed to be complying. Maybe that's a gender thing. Walking back to the car we stopped at an Italian Ice Cream place and then slowly ate the ices while walking up the hill. Smart move. 15 minutes of no masks and totally legal.

Rebel , you'll have them calling for a 4 minute window to polish off an ice cream if you say that.

I did that tonight LOL. Im thinking of buying one of those rubber fake dog toy ones and attaching it to my hand for the next year!! As we walked up the street the local police stopped on his motor bike. Thought we were in for it nope he just went into the local 7-11.maybe he had the same idea!
Beautiful caceres. I might get there within the next 20 years!

There is an exemption for exercising. If cyclists and joggers are exempt then so are walkers. I walk faster than some people jog!
