Balay Activa 505 Oven question
When we bought our house earlier this year, it came with a Balay Activa 505 built in electric oven, model 3HT505X/04, but the previous owner didn't leave a user manual.
I've been able to download a manual that covers several models - supposedly including ours, although the drawings don't show our exact model's control and knob panel, from the Balay website,
The one thing that i can't find in the manual, nor by experimenting with the controls, is how to know when the oven has pre-heated to the desired temperature.
Does anyone else have this model oven, and can tell me how to know when the oven has reached it's desired temperature, apart from buying an oven thermometer and hanging it from the oven shelf?
Many thanks

Hi zanuck,
We have just inherited an Electric oven.........not your model , but when you turn it on a light comes on and when it gets to temperature it goes off.

You can act like a safebreaker in a movie, gently turn the temperature knob and it will 'click' at the actual temperature.

Hi Enrique - no such luck with our Balay....
But por - that seems to work - although a light going off would have been nice - as would some words of wisdom in the user manual!
Thanks both - z

You can actually see the light inside the oven ‘twitch’ as the temperature sensor operates - at least on ours!

No twitching light, but the safebreaker technique seems to work, thanks.

If you use the fast warm-up setting (9 o’clock position for the control) it takes 7.5 minutes to get to 180 C. My OH, who has hearing problems uses the microwave timer as this is just above the oven. You can get a manual from Balay on request, or download one.

Thanks por, I downloaded the manual before my initial post.
Unless I missed it in translation, the manual doesn't tell the user how to know when the desired temperature is reached.
I'll give the fast warmup a go next time we use the oven.

Remember once it is warmed up to change to a normal function rather than the fast one.

Are you sure you need to do that? My Bosch oven, who make Balay, does has a fast heat option which bleeps when it is up to temperature, but no further action is requires.peteroldracer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 12:44 pm Remember once it is warmed up to change to a normal function rather than the fast one.

Re: Balay Activa 505 Oven question
I just used the logic that if it was ok to use the fast heat position all the time you would not need a normal one - plus you may want fan, or no fan, or grill rather than just oven.
