I Give up

Postby Lyric » Sat Dec 05, 2020 7:49 pm

I have succumbed to two things today.
1. We have started the Log Fire
2. Socks for the first time since April

Hope you aren’t wearing socks with those sandals!

We have had log burner going for a few weeks now but of course we are inland not on the coast. Have been able to see snow capped hills from our house for a few days now too. Quite magical.

Hi,
Getting reports from La provincia de Jaén..........road over the mountain from village to town blocked with snow.......very early this year, olive picking has been suspended............got ahead of the game this season by getting a friend to pick ours the other week whilst we are holed up in UK .

We lit our fire for the first time the other night too, 4 degrees here. I saw the news today, and they have heavy snow oop north, with temps of -11 tonight !!

i wonder if thats because theres lack of demand for the oil? Another 'wasted' crop?

Hi S.L.,

" olive picking has been suspended."............only up this way due to heavy snow..............it will then take some days to "dry" out before machinery can be used on the land.............pictures to follow :)

We lit the fire 26 November and it's been on most nights since. Down to 5 degrees a couple of mornings in our conservatory last week and we're not far from the coast (and not as high up as Lyric). The socks (at times two pairs!) have been on for a while. It was only 3 weeks ago we had 22 degrees one night, but that's typical here. It seems to be summer one week and winter the next.
