You dont get it until you second visit. They aren't suppsed to take you old green card (presuming its an exchange) until you collect your new one

Hola

In the Cádiz province, you are issued with a piece of paper stating that your TIE will soon be ready and this paper is accepted by authorities (a friend used it to enter Gibraltar on Friday)

Our green card residencias were taken off us on the first (application stage) visit in Velez Malaga. They gave us a type of cover note as proof that the application was in the process of being dealt with, and was sufficient if stopped by the police etc. Ours had a 45 day expiry date and we collected our TIEs just before it expired, getting an appointment online was a nightmare at that time. It may be different in Malaga.

We were given an appointment to collect the card. Doing it online is a nightmare and especially in August.

In Málaga our green sheets were not taken from us until we collected the TiE.

There is no deadline, but it is highly recommended that you get one rather than rely on the green certificate.

I have been trying to get this TIE since the end of May ... gestor had a lot of trouble getting an appointment ... he told me that no appointment was available in the Torre del Mar office before the end of September .. hence he tried for Malaga office ...

It seems to be the case Gavilan that there are few appointments in the Torre police station for some reason. I have known a number of people from Nerja/Caleta area that have had to trek down to Malaga this year.

They are rubbish machines. I had to have every finger scanned before the got a satisfactory scan. Apparently it’s a common problem. It was easier when they used ink!
