Please can anyone tell me what Mail from the UK attracts this new Surcharge/Customs Duty as from 01 January 2021. Some people are telling me it all mail including normal envelopes, Birthday Cards, Christmas Cards etc. I am very confused.
Thank You
David

Re: Inward Correos Mail from the UK
I've had birthday cards sent from the UK this year, as well as regular mail items like payslips from my pension providers, bank statements and replacement bank cards, and none of them have been subject to any customs duty or surcharge. I'm not aware of any items sent that have not reached me.

Re: Inward Correos Mail from the UK
Just paid 8.18e to release a very small package, well a fat letter really from the correos. Declared value on the sticker was £3 and labeled as jewellery. It was a tiny babyfeet charm so £3was actually pretty accurate.
How on earth could duty, vat etc come to 8e.
