Perseids meteor shower

Postby olive » Sat Aug 13, 2022 10:53 pm

That time off the year agin folks.

Just been out to watch before the super sturgeon moon rose. Quite a bit of cloud. Just for a change I saw none.

Might be better where you are. I think the peak is this morning at around 4 am but they should be visible for a few days…….

Seems to always be clouds at the wrong time

We actually saw a few shooting starts in the previous week. We always go and sit in the pool at bedtime to cool down and saw a few then, before the moon was full. This last few days there's either been the full moon in my face or clouds, so I've not seen anything this weekend. Last year I didn't see a single one so I'm pleased to have seen a few this year.

The moon was like a beacon lost night. I get fullmoonitis and it keeps me awake   so I try not to look at it. They say that's where the word lunatic comes from, and it does seem to affect me and the cats!
