We had 0.3mm and no calima. Plenty of rain forecast for next week. The risk of calima lasts until Sunday.

We had just a few spots and although it's hazy here, it's not orange skies and the rain was only a bit dirty. Looking much colder next week.

I am in Monesterio just near the Andalucian border today. Rain was forecast all day but … not one drop.

I came out this morning to find the patio table covered in calima dust ... to the extent that one could write one's name in it!!! ... and can hardly see the mountains for calima haze

And we are all breathing it in!

The funny thing is when you see calima it always looks worse in the distance.

The orange dust is in southern Extremadura as well. The air quality is not as pure as normal, that is certain.

The dust forecast says it will blow away overnight on Sun/Mon when the wind changes to westerly and brings in the rain. The timing of this is critical as to whether we get the mud or not.The period between 6pm Sunday and 6am Monday is when it could occur but all the met experts say it would not be as bad as 2022.

It also looks like we could get some rain all through the week, right through to Easter Monday.

having had some fun writing in the calima dust on the patio table ... I forgot how much might have setlled on the car!!! ...I just hope it does rain before we go to the airport on Monday to collect family ... dont think using domestic water to wash a car is allowed due to drought restrictions!

We have rain forecasted every single day for the next fortnight. We have family coming and I hope they still like jigsaws and board games.

So often Easter week is horrible here. Temperatures are dropping hugely tomorrow if the forecast is to be believed. Feel sorry for those of you with guests coming over, and the Easter parades will be a bit miserable.

Has been very windy here today but hot, and the calima has got worse. Can barely see the coast. I do hope this rain that is coming later will not be muddy again
