weird weather
Re: weird weather
rain forecast here starting tomorrow for 3 days ... will believe it when it happens ... but if it does and is substantial, will be first serious rain for more than 3 years!

Re: weird weather
Wow! To be honest I don't know why we are getting this steady rainfall. It hasn't happened like this in the 18 years we have been here. If this is climate change (and I'm not sure about that at all) then it's very nice. It could be warmer, though. Last night was down to 3ºC.
Re: weird weather
Barely any rain forecast for Torrox area.

Re: weird weather
Absolutely pouring with rain all day and more to come. It's dark, very overcast and it's quite cold.

Re: weird weather
Fingers crossed for you all.
Re: weird weather
I was looking at the hourly forecast and that's just changed to show heavier rain overnight Friday into Saturday. Tomorrow was originally showing rain all day but that has changed and it's moved along into the evening. Currently blue skies and warm here, but it's supposed rain this afternoon.
If it comes from the west it so often passes behind us in this valley, behind the mountains, but we'll be grateful for anything. If the garden can have a good water to save us keep irrigating that would be good, but I don't think that Lake Viñuela has gone up much, still only 7.88% full. We were talking to friends yesterday who know several people whose bore holes have dried up. I don't think these odd spells of rain will do much to ease the drought situation. Never mind, the neighbours are still planting mango trees (another 90 just gone in across the valley) .... they must know something we don't

Re: weird weather
still planting mango trees?!!!!! ,,, up here I was amazed to see guys cutting down some avocado trees ... methinks they have given up waiting for rain
Re: weird weather
Apparently avocados need more water than mangos. I've seen some avocados cut down, but then they replace them with mango trees. It's still non stop planting (and building) in our valley (plus more apartment blocks being built on the Costa here ..... water shortage ? what water shortage ??).
Re: weird weather
started raining here aorund 4 pm ... so far 9mm of wet stuff ... but still raining
Re: weird weather
Had a good steady shower, not too much of a downpour to cause damage, but good watering weather. Stopped a while ago but very black sky still. Overnight Friday/Saturday looks like more rain. All very welcome in the garden and saves us having to irrigate. 11 degrees outside which feels very chilly.
Re: weird weather
We are all saved!
Re: weird weather
12.8 mm ... so some way to go yet!
Re: weird weather
no more rain so far today ...let's hope the heavens open tomorrow!
Re: weird weather
32 litros here in last 48 hours , about 1.2 inches. Nice to see rio Genil full. Pantano de Iznajar 21%.
Re: weird weather
so far we have had just over 3 litres

Re: weird weather
Torrential rain yesterday. All good. Happy for you.
Re: weird weather
We've had a day of proper rain. The tracks from our house have turned into a slippery mass of mud and it's been a long time since I've had to cope with that it seems. Currently just 9 degrees outside and it feels freezing.
