Patio heater (estufa exterior)? Just seen them on offer at €149 (Grupo Amaco). Used to have one in UK which did the trick.

Do they have a website? Where are they? Is it a gas heater, I'd rather not have gas myself

www.marbellamist.com

They do the gas ones and infra red ones which I have at home that I bought in Italy years ago, they are really great. Like warm sunshine!

Thanks silver & boxcart. The corte ingles one looks rather plasticy and of poor quality but im going in to them to have a look tomorrow.

Ive also contact marbella mist about prices for their gas and halogen heaters. I must say the halogen ones look very nice and probably cheaper to run than the underfloor heating i have!

Put more clothes on instead. Patio heaters have to be the best way of squandering energy and contributing to global warming ever invented

I see your point, thats one of the reasons I got an infra-red heater which is connected to the electricity and is very economical to run and therefore very environmentally friendly - so not to worry! got it from a local company marbellamist.com

patio heating

You can buy wood burning ones at less than 100 euros. Last year, we stopped at a place on the Malaga to Cordoba road ( Benameji, I recall, small town packed full of furniture shops ) and bought a wonderful cast iron estuffa. One log keeps you warm all evening. Those gas ones are ugly and way over the top on price , IMHO !

ILL SAY IT AGAIN!!! I agree the gas ones are ugly, expensive and expensive to use. Thats why I got infra red halogen heaters they are small little lamp type things with special bulbs and design to eat very effectively and economically.

daneinspain, OK, got it, however if anyone else is interested, we sometimes burn wood in an old oil drum (approx 50 x 30 cms) for heating our patio, then we put a grill type of thing over the red embers and it’s a BBQ.

A bit basic and ugly, but even cheaper still and a nice smell of wood smoke. :D

NB It cannot be put directly onto tiles.
