Whenever I need anything for my swimming pool I go to Baeza (that's the company not the town!) near the entrance to the airport.

You will find details of pool covers and prices here. However, it is unlikely that a cover alone will keep the water warm enough to enable you to swim all through the winter.

Spanish Lad, with all due respect, installing a pool cover and particularly a heat pump is something very specialised and requires a lot of knowledge. I would suggest you stick to painting rejas and leave the above to the professionals

ohhh, someone´s found the "insert quote" button.

i said i can GET a quote, not GIVE a quote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a friend who OWNS A POOL & GARDEN MAINTANANCE COMPANY. he´s very busy. he works all around marbella, alhaurin, coin, malaga, fuengerola etc. he is contracted to the maintanance of nearly 100 pools and gardens. he STOPPED advertising in the Sur in english because he is TOO BUSY.

he works for people so rich that they have butlers and maids living in their houses for them. he has installed pool heaters in the pools of houses worth 10´s of millions of euros.

but nevermind eh? it seems that the advice / help of someone "like me", a poor un-employed Reja bar painter is just not wanted.

next time that you want to take the mickey out of me, at least take off your rose tinted glasses long enough to open your eyes and actually read what i wrote

kid, calm down. Im not making fun of you it just seemed like you were going to do the thing yourself, now its clear you arent. And you dont need to nor have you impressed me with your special friend. And as general advice try not to take things too personally particularly when you know people may have misunderstood what you said and wehn you may have done the same, ok ragazzo?

Don't take it to heart spanish lad after all he does have a brother with a web site supplying pool covers. You don't fit the box on andalucia.com because you are looking for good honest work I will remember you if i know anyone who needs an all rounder.

And some of the biggest cowboys are the ones with fancy web sites as I have found out to my cost. Anyone one this site who trys to earn a living are to some extent or another preying on the ex-pat community as they wouldn't get any work if they relied on the spanish. Or are you like me and don't need to work.

spanish lad, if you're looking for work and you live the alghaurin el grande area it may be worth asking ken at deep blue pools if he has any room for you, hes a great chap and is quite busy i believe.

thanks daneinspain, i´ll bear that in mind. what makes you think i am looking for a job with a pool company? although i guess any work is work, afterall.

why is that ? i mean, whats a "handyman" if not an all rounder? are all "handymen" cowboys? i would take "all rounder" as a compliament? more sort of, i know a little bit about alot of things.

back to the thread now then or what?

spanish lad, indeed work is work but i dont mean maintaining pools they do more installations and have their pool school as i said have a look at their website and you will see what they do. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining pools, what would bring on that attitude? It is not a measly job, as I said, my brother has a pool company and they are very well paid and their job isnt at all bad.

But yes back to the post, you asked if anyone knows anything about heatpumps and covers, well yes I know a thing or two, the lady asked for a quote though and so I suggest she contact various pool companies for quotes.
