Kitchen apliances Spain>UK

Postby dangerman » Fri Nov 25, 2005 9:39 am

Some friends of ours recently moved out here, & are considering buying a dishwasher. However, they say there's a likelyhood of them returning to the UK in the next 6 months. They'd like to know whether a Dishwasher purchased here, would work back in Blighty?

I don't know about dishwashers but washing machines in Spain tend to come with cold fill only.

Dishwashers I've come across, are cold fill only in the UK so not a problem.

I think you will find that the spanish appliances are a much lower spec than the UK ones - for the same money in the UK you can get a much better product. Plus it might be a little difficult to get a SPanish brand serviced in UK?

On what do you base that comment?

Most domestic appliances sold in Spain are the same as those sold in the UK - Zanussi, LG, Bosch etc come to mind and there are many others which are pan European brands.

There are some local specification differences such as hot/cold fill on washing machines but this is just a different spec which takes into account that in the UK everyone has central heating which provides unlimited hot water.

Fridges and freezers sold in Spain are built to a higher spec than UK models because of the higher ambient temperatures

ho ho what a bunch of wits you are.

Walk in to Urende and take a look - we wanted a simple washer tumble/deyer and cooker.

Try and find one of a similar spec which you would get in Currys/Dixon for the same price around 300 GBP/500E the shops here are full of very basic spec ones - to get the same as the UK spec you would pay aroun 700E.+ Its the same with cookers/freezer etc. The basic models are much more basic for the same money in UK.

ANd no I wasnt going to "little england" shops on the coast, where I'm quite sure I could have bought english goods froman english person in english.! Before you al start going on about how fantastic is the english kitchen shop in calahonda/belamedena/etc etc.

If it’s such a problem, for just six months, what’s so bad about washing up by hand :?:

Here is my viewpoint as a person who has earned his living for the past twenty five years, five here in Spain, repairing domestic appliances of all makes and models. The specifications are exactly the same here as in England. Regards, Brian 952931124 or 647920388
