Bank Holidays

Postby Ashcroft » Thu Dec 01, 2005 5:42 pm

I'm aware that Tuesday and Thursday are Bank Holidays here in Spain but someone has told me that Monday is also a Bank Holiday.
Is this correct? Is it possible that it is local to Marbella?

Tuesday 6th December is:-
The Day of the Constitution (A National Bank Holiday in Spain).

Thursday 8th December is:-
The Day of the Immaculate Conception (A National Bank Holiday in Spain).

They have been national bank holiday as long as I can remember but then again I have only been here since 1979.

Buy a Spanish Calander for the Spanish interpratation.

Hope this helps!

Regards
Ian

The celebration of the Día de la Constitución was to commemorate the 6th December 1978 when there was a referendum on the Spanish Constitución which was approved and subsequently came into force on 27th December.

The approval for it to regarded as an official public holiday as the Día de la Constitución was not given until 1987.
