Lots of banks around there, a couple in the commercial centre at the side of the bullring, think they are solbank and Banco de Andalucia.

We started with a Spanish Bank but find they charge for everything and I mean everything so we changed to The Hal**x Espainia.

They do not charge as long as you have 600 euro in your account and do free money transfers from UK H****X plus on-line banking.

You can use your debit card in any hole in the wall and the largest ATM can't remember the name doesn't make a charge.

Hi dawncl,

is that right that Halifax don't charge for money transfers?
Do they charge for using other banks cash machines?

Does anyone know anything about bank charges ie which have the least charges etc,

Hi dido72

Just joined and got all the literature from Halifax Spain.

It states that as long as you keep 600 euro in then no charges are made also the largest ATM machine provider in Spain will not charge but cant remember the name off hand.

I thought the free money transfer was a red herring 'nothing is for free'
So I telephoned and asked the exchange rate.
It varies throughout the day according to the official rate.
It's not the full rate you get SHOWN on the TV TELETEXT.
I would say it's about the same as moneycorp / crown and others but you do not pay a fee.

They also sort out your utilities bills [for free]
