Impossible to give an opinion without knowing your circumstances, and likes and dislikes.

Why are you considering moving to Alhaurin? What attracts you?
Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated into the collective

There are two Alhauríns both about as different from each other as two towns ever could be.

Most of those I have met, who dislike AEG, do so because they wish they lived there but can't

Sorry for the sort of tongue in cheek question. I just worry about some of the answers people give on here and spose I deserved them

We have just visited friends who have rented in ADLT and have bought property in AEG. Me and my husband are moving to Spain, to rent initially and we also want to work. We have money from a house sale to tide us over for a while. We were going to move to Arroyo but on visiting both of the Alhaurins we liked them especillay ADLT. I just wanted some comments from people who know the area

Thanks Katie :D

well well .. someone else wants to move here.. hmm, theres plenty of cheaper property, and alot of more expensive property too.. what sort of size house are you looking for ?

what is it that you like about de la torre as apposed to el grande ? i´ve always thought of de la torre as a malaga commuter overspill.

country boy, as a commuter, why do you comute to alhaurin el grande? cant you work in pizarra? or do you have to travel to where work is avaliable ?

detourer, by cant, do you mean cant afford to?;)

so anyways katie, you and the old man, what do you want out of alhaurin ? work? good life ? easy access to the coast ?

Well to be honest spanish_lad yes i would like a bit better life in Spain but not necessarily in Alhaurin, because like I have said I'm not sure where I want to move to. I do want to work because I don't want to use the savings we have. I am not really sure whether I want to live in any of the Alhaurins yet because I do like living by the sea, but they do appeal to me. ADLT because the short time I stayed there it did seem more Spanish than the coast but also an opportunity for me to work arose.

I know I would not be earning anything like I am earning in England but am willing to work to earn a wage. I am not coming over with rose coloured spectacles. All I would ask for is some feedback about both Alhaurins opposed to Arroyo.

Cheers katie :D

If you want to be inland its not one of the prettiest villages, looks much the same as Arroyo to me and the access to the coast, if you like the sea, is congested (at least the 3 routes I know). Brother in Law has a place in the campo there and after driving about 3 kilometros down a single file rough track there are 3 houses all occupied by Brits, one house has lots of parties
