Where is Spain does one buy good old fashioned soap ? On a recent trip
(in a holiday destination mind you) all I could find was "Dove" brand from the uk, at import prices and one expensive scented Spanish soap.

Re: Soap
I am not in Andalucia but choice of soap is very limited in and around Valencia and quality soap when we can find it is very expensive.anyroads wrote:This is one for the shoppers amongst you....

For instance, soaps in The Body shop cost more in Spain than in other European countries.
As for making your own, forget it. It is not easy, its costly to buy the materials needed including protective clothing etc and can be dangerous given that caustic soda has to be used in the process.

Certainly not a problem that I've encountered - Mercadona stocks a large range of soaps from the traditional Marsella to olive oil soaps to fruity soaps...all types. Mind you last year I was given a HUGE chunk of home made olive oil soap that I'm still working my way through...maybe I just don't wash often enough!
