There used to be a couple of small Tesco shops in Gibraltar ,one in the High St, does anyone know if they are still there ? or is there a shop around Benalmadena that sells Tesco products ?? .......................

There are a number of supermarkets that sell UK products but not marked up as Tesco lines. Try Evita Store, top end of Avenida Las Palmeras, opposite Mercadona

Tesco

The High Street Tesco has closed down.
There is what seems to be a quasi-Tesco (fairly big, too) halfway along Devil's Tower Road (rock side). No signs (not much) - looks like a trade place, but isn't. I say seems because I haven't been inside but seen lots of folk emerging with bulging Tesco plastic bags.

What do you think of Morrisons? I don't think it is as good as Safeways.

It was not so good when it first changed over but it seems OK now and the meat is exceptional - much better than Safeways. Lamb chops to die for!

Yes, all the meat is superb. Didn't used to buy much from there but now take cool box and buy a lot. The butcher is very pleasant too.

there was one in the highstreet, a tesco express - that has now been bought out by marks and spencer and the one on the mnarina has been turned into a sports centre. (i think)

   who actually wants a Tesco or any other English supermarket in Spain?? The Spanish ones are good and what is there to look forward to if you go back to the UK?

Err - unless I have missed the point, since when was Gibraltar in Spain?

There are lots of items available in Gib which are not available in Spain. If these are what you want, why should you have to go to the UK to buy them when Gib offers a good "local" alternative.

As far as I am concerned, if the only thing you have to look forward to from a visit to the UK is a trip to Tesco, that confirms why I live in Spain!

I take Preppies point. If Coviran opened a Hypermarket in Liverpool I'd have rock all to look forward to when I go back to Spain
