7 day weather forecast for your town
A Spanish friend has given me the website for the Spanish Meteorology department and I have found it very useful for a 7 day forecast for Olvera but you can put in your town and get the forecast. The address is www.inm.es and you have to click on the 'Prediccion a 7 dias' and then select your Province and town.
I hope some of you find this useful.
regards
Ian

It's the only site I let my husband go on and it's been reasonably accurate for over a year since we started using this website. You will find that the 7-day is quite changeable (like anywhere really) after the first couple of days, but on a day-to-day basis it's very good. It's the best site that we've found for accurate weather because it shows towns as well as cities.
Since I gave up hope I feel much better!

For those of you around Lake Vinuela, try <http://www.malagaweather.com/ >
Apart from the webcam (which may show your house if you live next to the lake!) there are statistics, forecasts, radar maps....it is probably even better if you can manage some German!

I can second peteroldracers recommendation of www.malagaweather.com
We find its forecasts very accurate and they are updated throughout the day - e.g. went from 5% to 20% chance of rain today but not until we had had a downpour!
Generally good webcam images too.

Yes, its a very interesting site with some good links and I use it to see whats coming our way but I cant see any weather forecast there!brenda wrote:I can second peteroldracers recommendation of www.malagaweather.com .
Have I missed something?
If you can cope with reading a weather chart, the USAF site has some good ones which I have found to be the most accurate.

But Herr Sid - zu furget zis is rhun mit German efficiency!El Cid wrote: It will be interesting to check their forecast with the actuals. I expect they just pull it in from one of the many other forecast sites.
I have usually found it good enough to know if I should put off spraying the weeds, or get the ladders and paint out!

It's nice to see that they use good old English Beaufort for wind speeds!peteroldracer wrote:El Cid wrote: But Herr Sid - zu furget zis is rhun mit German efficiency! !
The problem with all these "local" forecasts is that they are computer generated from the overall forecasts and that makes them appear more "accurate" because you can select your local town.
Even the UK met office have said that their own computer generated local forecasts are very innacurate. The other problem down here is that there are huge local variations in the weather. We were in Torrox last Saturday and it poured with rain for 3 hours. 5 miles east there was no rain at all.
I have a weather station similar to the one at Vinuela and it is very interesting to compare the figures as we are about 30km east. The differences are quite marked. There is no obvious trend apart from the minimum temp usually being colder there as it is inland and higher up.
Most of the time down here if you want to know what the weather will be like tomorrow, look out the window now!
