Postby tt » Sun Dec 14, 2008 7:33 pm

Thinking of making my own pork pie for Christmas.
Has anyone had a go while living out here.
Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Hope you have it Beni with some good old english mustard, when i did me national service, we use to have the tea wagon come round, me from London, would have a cuppa tea with a cold pork pie, BUT the blokes from up north, would have them HOT, ??? the beatiful jelly would all run out, yuk, never ever tried one hot, and never will, its the jelly that makes the pie sooooooooo good, bloody hell beni got to go shopping tomorrow,

Ken,
Pork Pie with HP Brown Sauce ..for me, and even though I'm a Northerner I always have the pork pie cold....yum yum..I could just eat another one...
Amazing how people from different regions can eat things so differently,.... pork pie with mustard. ?...well I will have to try that....

And now someone is going to say they like pork pie with marmalade or......????

Regards,
Gordon..

If you are ever in the area, try one from Chatsworth farm shop...with mustard of course. A Friend makes her own, they are layered with Pork, Turkey and cranberry ,yummy.

I adore pork pies and that one sounds yummy. Did you know that they once did a survey and it showed that the number of people admitting to eating pork pies was about 60 per cent less than the number of pies actually sold. Glad to know that everyone on this forum at least is prepared to admit his weakness

Well a youth drug would do it, but to be honest, i;m not a miserable old git, but i don't think i would like to start all over again, like they say, THINGS AIN'T LIKE THEY USE TO BE. BUT DO WISH I COULD PIN POINT WHAT WAS IN THE PASTRY THAT MAKES THE PROBLEM,?

Nice one Ken. I took a picture of mine but I'm better at cooking than using a computer. How did you get it onto A.com. My picture is already on the computer.

Thanks

Ken, belly pork is best, pork pie is so lovely because of the huge fat content - the more the tastier

I´d love to see a few pics of the pork pie being made! You know, stage one boiling pigs trotter, stage two etc. It doesn´t have to be a pork pie, it could be something else, but the pie did look scrumptious. Yuuuuummmmmy.
Maybe you could strategically place the whistling gnome somewhere on each pic for me to spot! :D
