I buy them in Supercor at La Trocha. It is the only place I have ever seen them.
Let's go Brandon!

You can get them in Al Campo at La Cañada in Marbella, and also in the La Cala market.

On Huescar market at 8.30 this morning, got fresh parsnips and sprouts as we have done the last 3 years. So we are not as isolated up here as people think we are.....

Coviran in Benemargosa had some today (until we bought 2 punnets!) and Eroski were well stocked in El Ingenio, Velez.
Par-boil them, then stir-fry them in olive oil with those small bacon cubes, cooked, peeled and chopped chestnuts, some garlic...
The tricky things to find are parsnips - only seen them this year as part of stewpacks...

Peteroldracer
Fresh parsnips, brussel sprouts and Bramley apples were available yesterday at the Country Farmers Market at Trapiche.
The couple who sell vegetables there eventually sold out but had boxes and boxes of them.
This couple were at the market at Hotel Saydo, Mollina today and again had plenty of parsnips etc.
I understand they usually attend both these markets.
If you have a mercado de abastecimiento in Comares ask one of the greengrocery stallholders to get parsnips. We did that in our village a few years ago and never have problems getting parsnips or brussel sprouts.

Thanks for that avellana - the Tuesday market clashes a bit with our bridge club so I only went as far as the aforementioned Coviran - I should have got up earlier and gone the extra 10kms from Benamargosa! We only want them for New Year's Eve, so time to track a few down before then... :D

A lot of the goods I bought in Gibraltor were out of date before christmas!! Some things were already out of date and still on the shelves.....is this normal for Morrisons in Gib?

I checked the dates as we were buying, in Morrisons, and found digging to the back of the shelves produced longer lasting goods. Things like mince pies, that only had a few weeks on, i put in the freezer when we got home.

Its the opposite to spanish shops...they seem to put the longer dated items infront of the old stuff, where i live!
