Drink it, just celebrate being alive and enjoy it, life is short :)

What is it worth?
If it were mega money i'd be tempted to sell,a hundred or so and i'd drink it or give to someone as a special gift.

Can you be more specific about what it says on the label?

If it the CHÂTEAU CARSIN CUVÉE PRIVÉE ROUGE 2001 then apparently they only made 25 magnums so it could be quite rare.

This has nothing to do with your question but you may find it interesting.
I have a friend who runs/owns a rural bar, anyway about 20 odd years ago he was given a gift of a bottle of wine by some fairly well off people as they had being on holiday and brought back a few cases of vino tinto, at the time my friend really had no interest in wine as this was a pretty ordirnary bar.
A few weeks later a local lady was home who had left a few years earlier came into the bar one night with her fiance and said to my friend and do you have any wine?
The only bottle in the house was the one he got as the gift.
The reply was oh yes of course and poured a glass and she had 3 glasses at £1.50 a time and thought the wine was really good and complimented his choice.
Some time later the people asked how he enjoyed the wine and naturally he did not tell them what happened but he did drink the rest of it and kinda liked it but would prefer a pint, during the course of the conversation he discovered that the cost of the wine was around £50 and he had sold more than half the bottle for £4.50.
So enjoy it...

El Cid, specifically,
White label with a black 1 centimetre thick bar running across the bottom,
It says, in th centre of the label, Cuvee 2001 in black letters about sixteen points in typescrpit size, then lower down, premier cotes de Bordeaux, then lower still Apellation premieres cotes de Bordeaux controllee G F A Chateau Carsin F: 33410 Rions, I really suspect that it's not valuable but I'm just curious, it's 1½ litres so whatever it's value it's still a decent hangover for two !!

Or a bigger and better hangover for one.
Just drink it and post us the results mid-hangover.

I had a look at the Carsin site but it's difficult to say which one of their wines corresponds to your bottle from the info you have given.

I think it's time to drink it!

I checked LIDL and ALDI. They appear not to stock this brand in bottles OR litre cartons. Maybe I should try DIA.

I noticed, on the link posted above, that the wine is expected to improve until "at least" 2010.
Given my luck I'd drink it now.......it's all downhill for the future!!
