I don't know what Cid thinks, but I think that after the first litre you wouldn't know the difference

Most of the cheap wines from Aldi and Lidl will be better than some others as they can't risk buying 100000 boxes of rubbish!

It looks worth a try, personally Cabernet Sauvignon is my favourite grape variety but the only way to find out is to try it!

Unfortunately we can't all afford to shop at Harrods and Fortnum and Mason. Some of us have to shop where we can afford to shop.

Don't go then. You are aware they also sell brand names - if that's what you're into.

btw ... 10 Jun 2009 – Budget supermarket Aldi has trounced its big name rivals to be named Supermarket of the Year.

At least we agree that "Aldi and Lidl" are the sublime and "Harrods and Fortnum and Mason" are the ridiculous.
I don't know why you took exception at what I said. To me it is a fact that " Unfortunately we can't all afford to shop at Harrods and Fortnum and Mason. Some of us have to shop where we can afford to shop."
Why do you say "Do try to control your vindictiveness and stupidity!" ?
I can't see anything vindictive or stupid in what I said.
This is the first time I have replied to one of your posts. I'm just getting fed up of the way you constantly go on about how you can afford fine ( expensive to me) wines, can eat in expensive restaurants when som of us can only afford menu del dia which you one described as "peasant food"
Cheers

people who really have money never talk about it like that..it´s only the people who would like to have that sort of money who pretend they do and always go on about the amount they have and the lifestyle they lead...those people are actually sitting at home eating an aldi sarnie for dinner and have never been to harrods in their life.

I don't care what katy says - I do my regular weekly shop at Lidl and am very happy with the quality of produce

They also have some amazing 'specials' :D

Gerry you have responded to my posts before in a vindictive manner. Don't start pretending that you haven't. I could paste quite a few but I can't be ársed . Why the multiple thumbs down :?: One is understandable or is your thumb stuck

I am not "well off" but I would pay an extra 20 quid or so per shop to avoid shopping at Lidl it is not exactly a pleasant experience is it  I once bought some Muesli from there (it was the closest shop to me along with muckydonna) absolutely vile and uneatable.

I can't remember having ever done so.

Ok Sid you would be very welcome to sit and share it with me,but for you to drive here, the price of the liquid gold that we have to put in our car's would be better spent on a really nice bottle for your self,so i will just have to drink it on your behalf, cheers Sid, will let you know what i think, but i am not the best to judge, actually i seem to have lose the taste for wine, ha ha must be the crap i buy, ha ha ,will have to ask Katy to perhaps share one of her finest bottles, perhaps she will show me the areas of my ways,

Apology....Not looking for one just sort of pointing out that other posters often say the same as I do and never a comment. Many times I forget who said what and if I agree with someone I say so. If I remember someone who has been vindictive, unfair or rude more than a few times then they must have been so. Anyway I have bitten...just the first but I know there are many other posts. This one was about pedigree dogs....defending the indefensible eh :wtf: Just cos I said it!

You are obviously new on here. That was quite mild, wait to she really gets started.
Just ignore her as most other people on here do.
