In Mucky D this morning they are trying to force down your neck at the till doughnuts, neat and chocolate covered and something called Chufa which comes in litre containers so is obviously a drink. What is it ?

It's a Spanish drink made from Tiger Nuts (Chufas).

Also called Horchata de Chufa

Yeah, Chufa is definitely not a taste I've been able to acquire!! I like other nut milks though, almond and hazelnut milks go very nicely in coffee. I make my own though and it's expensive geting the nuts so an occasional luxury :D

Are there not some random almond trees in your local olive groves ? We have a big one not far from our casa, and look forward to Sep/Oct when we can get some really fresh nuts (tho we have to try & beat others to it  )
