Possibly my favourite beer is brewed by Victoria; a couple of weeks ago, we found bottles of a dark beer - Victoria Marengo Negro in a supermarket in Torre del Mar.
It was really tasty, but we haven't found it yet in a bar - even one where the "house beer" is the usual golden coloured Victoria.
Does anyone know of a bar between Torre del Mar and Torrox that serves Marengo, even better would be to find it on draught.
Thanks
Victoria Marengo Beer
Re: Victoria Marengo Beer
Hi Zanuck
Had the "Victoria Negro" beer in "La Taberna" in Torrox Costa. On the Paseo just by the kids' playground ( small price to pay for such a good beer!)

Hi
jonbar.1
Thanks for this, unfortunately it will have to wait until our next trip, driving to Santander tomorrow for the ferry on Sunday to Portsmouth.
I've made a note of "La Taberna" and we'll check it out in February - Covid restrictions permitting!
PS did you have it on draught or bottles?

Re: Victoria Marengo Beer
It was on draught.
I would like to know if I can buy it in Torrox or Nerja.
I asked on "Digame" a few weeks ago but didn't get a single reply
A decent tasting beer is hard to get on Spain.

Re: Victoria Marengo Beer
I was going to ask if it's stocked in the shops anywhere around Torrox, perhaps Eroski may have it as they have a bigger choice (but obviously out of bounds at the mo)?
In the summer Lidl often have a British beer week and we go and buy several 6 mixed bottle boxes, proper ales from Marstons and related breweries, a bargain 6.99€ a box. Worth looking out for. Mercadona sell Marston's 61 Deep. We love a Guinness and Russell's on Torrox Costa are the cheapest at 1.39€ a large can.

Cheers Wicksey.
I've seen a few good beers around, but I have to say ; apart from "Alhambra-1925" I haven't tasted a particularly good Spanish beer. They are all Lager-types. This "Victoria -Negra" is the tastiest I've had. It's a bit like a British "Stout"
May check-out "Iranzo" supermarket in Nerja, next trip.
Maybe Zanuck can tell us where he saw it in Torre Del Mar ?

I shall be on the hunt for it when we're allowed out of town, presuming it's not available in any of the Torrox shops!

Hi jonbar.1
Our ferry booked for today was cancelled yesterday as we were driving north about 3 hours from home, so we turned around and came back, so maybe we'll be able to try the draught version before our rebooked sailing on Friday.
Apologies for the delayed response - having bad internet and email problems at the moment.

Have you looked at the Company’s website? They may give a list of stockists.
