School terms.holidays, anyone know?

Does anyone know if there are any holidays in the next term? I know we go back on the 15th, but I heard that there is some kind of holiday (with a week or more off?) sometime in October. Does anyone know if this is true? I can ask at the school when we go back, but I would like to know in advance if possible, so maybe I can plan a trip away or something....

I could be wrong, or it could just be a local thing.

How do I find out official things about school terms otherwise?

Some schools differ with holidays - try searching for your child´s school on the internet, they might have their own webpage. Otherwise as a guide try "calendario escolar andalucia"

Thanks, no school website (tiny village school) but found term dates and no sign of any holiday apart from a day or two before Christmas.

Oct 9th is a bank holiday if that helps

There are no actual holidays from 15th Sept until Christmas. There are however 3 bamk hols I think, one in Oct and 2 in Dec. Some schools also allow their pupils time off in October for the Feria- a sort of do want you want week!!!!!!!!

I refer to my posting yesterday.
I gave a tinyurl link to the official school calendar on the Junta de Andalucia's websitehttp://www.juntadeandalucia.es/index.html.
This shows that October the 13th is a national holiday so Spanish state schools will not be open.
