Malaga Football Club

Postby hiker » Sun Nov 29, 2009 7:45 pm

Rather than post up gizillions of threads on each and every match (I know how that annoys some people), I will post any further information on this club under this thread...

For convenience sake...

Anyways, down to business...
Sevilla 2:Malaga 2.
We were 2 up at half time. Incredible. My faith is being slowly restored.
We are now 4 from the bottom and unbeaten in 3 games.

Is this the comeback that is prayed for????

I know....
And if Althletico Madrid win tonight (which I think they will...) we'll be third from bottom.

However, I think that a psycological corner is being turned, at the moment.
I'm also keeping an eagle eye on my other hero, Roy Keane at Ipswich Town, and they too are begining to turn the corner with an away win at Cardiff Town.

All I need now is for Shamrock Rover to win the Irish Premier League next season and my life will be complete.....

Have Cardiff City FC become Cardiff Town then? ;-) See Barca just managed it!

No problem! ;-) I have no connection with the place, other than my son lives there, and years ago I used to go to the rugby there. A proper game! Do you go to the Rosaleda with any of the locals? Just wondered, we have a good friend there in Frigiliana and don't think he misses many home games.

I only arrived about 8 months ago so I'm a newbie but my teacher in the language school in Nerja is a fanatic and he's got me into it now as well.

I went about 3/4 weeks ago to the Valencia game witha friend from the language school. although we lost that night, I was really imnpressed with the support.

The club seems to have a hardcore support of about twenty thousand fan for every home game.
Incredible, eh?

I have been to the El Cuervo bar in Frigiliana for the Televised away games. Good craic all round.
great way to meet local spanish fans from Frigiliana too and practice my Spanish....

Good to hear you're at a language school. Which one? I did a couple of visits to Escuela de Idiomas, seemed a good set up. Stayed in their Residence, as I went with a friend that was disabled, it was the only place he could manage.

They played 100 times better against Sevilla than they played against Zaragosa. I hope they will have a win soon, 3 points will make a big difference to the table.

Hiker, Roy Keane is a langer. get over it! :D

Almeria 1 Athletic Bilbao 4
Good result for my local team. We are doing quite well this year, that puts us up to 8th.I watched the match and thought Almeria were poor.
It's good to see you guys supporting your local teams and not following the big guns such as Real and Barca

Malaga 1: Osasuna 1.

Another home draw. It's not looking like we can snap out of this.
What is the situation with relegation?

Is it the last two or the last three?

(Not a great vote of confidence there, eh? )

It's the bottom three!

I use this site for the league tables and fixtures
http://www.soccer-spain.com/ssdocs/table1.php

I suppose we could look on the bright side, a point against a mid table team is good !

Away to Valladolid next, who are only a couple of places above them in the standings and then home to Mallorca, who are in 6th place. Malaga need to focus on getting 4 points out of these matches before the New Year break.

Ach I dont know Julian, it has the look of a relegation dogfight about it.

Still four games without defeat is encouraging.
