The original proposal was to start at 8:00 AM tomorrow, Monday.
So are bars, cafes and restaurants shut today?
Cheers

A quote from https://www.andalucia.com/health/coronavirus:-
"This one is stricter on the movement of people. From 08.00 Monday 16th March 2020 the order only permits you to leave your house in the following cases:"
Is there anywhere that has accurate and up to date information?
Cheers

Anyone whose attitude is that “it isn’t the law yet, so I am taking no notice” deserves to be sent to help nurse the sick.

Re: Coronavirus
I flew to the uk on thursday night no problem but airport was very quiet. Looked a bit strange with lots wearing masks. Friend who lives in Malaga city said lots of bars and restaurants already closed on Saturday. Streets very quiet and shops with no customers. The problem is when they lift the ban lots of people will start to get infected again. The UK model seems to be better to me.
Re: Coronavirus
A friend said they were chased off Torrox Costa paseo by a policeman yesterday afternoon and told to stay at home. Everything was shut. Up until yesterday I had read that the lockdown started at 8am tomorrow but that's obviously not the case.

Re: Coronavirus
There are already comments here from locals that they see a very high level of compliance by locals, but "visitantes" are out walking around. It is being promoted as "the right thing to do" and "working together" rather than some draconian imposition from above.

Re: Coronavirus
What's the UK model? I think now everyone is trying to reduce the rate of infections, to give hospitals a chance to cope with those who develop serious problems and not be completely overwhelmed. I guess we will see if it's "too little, too late". Loved that "Yes, minister" clip (and the show).costakid wrote:I flew to the uk on thursday night no problem but airport was very quiet. The Board has approved a general measure to maximise restricted movement by citizens. Citizens are only allowed to leave their homes, individually (unless accompanying a disabled person or for another justified reason), in the following situations, both on foot and by car:
to buy food or other primary necessities, or to get prescription meds from the farmacia
to visit medical facilities in case of urgency
to go to your workplace or to carry out labour, professional or company duties
to return to your habitual home
to take care of children or other dependant family members or to assist elderly or disabled people
to visit banking or insurance institutions
for reasons of overwhelming force or situation of necessity
for any other activity of an analogous nature duly justified
to walk your pet (this was not mentioned in the original list, but mentioned specifically during the Q&A after the press conference)
to fill your vehicle up with fuel
to buy food or other primary necessities, or to get prescription meds from the farmacia

Re: Coronavirus
The Uk are saying ...elderly self isolating for months is in their plan but not yet..All a bit confusing and not clear..Many questions! Why not now etc....Truth is the elderly are already cautious, at least the people who i know are..My own mother 87yrs has stopped her one weekly trip out of the door to the next market town for a look out...She has also made the decition to not attend her grandaughters wedding....I know one man who won't allow his mother to go over the doorstep,i don't blame him..94 and with lung problems.FIL over in Spain is the same age and it's very worrying all round.

Seems you can do anything then except go for a walk, sit on a beach or drink in a barfincalospinos wrote:The Board has approved a general measure to maximise restricted movement by citizens.
