Worrying about future holidays wouldn't be high on my list of priorities right now either.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Well I did clean my oven the other day ... that's a rare thing  and if the weather improves then we may clear out the shed but there's not much else to do in the house otherwise. I just don't like being stuck here which I guess is how many people now feel that we are under curfew. I have numerous friends travelling who are now stuck where they don't want to be, so feel very sorry for them and I'm grateful not to be in their situation.

Fantastic qu2ex.

I suspect that this years holiday season will be wrecked or non existent. Terrible blow for the Southern Eurpean economies. I bet Christine Lagarde will be cooking up something to save Italy and Spain. The Italian banks arent that well capitalised from memory

With what will she, and all the governments pledging billions for every last possible contingency, with what will they be doing anything? There is no money. We have known that for ages which is why governments have been printing the stuff.

Wicksey, have you tries using a dishwasher tablet on dirty oven, particularly the glass door. Dip it in hot water and rub!!! Comes up like new.

Another thought, although I am sure many have done it, I photoed my dog documents onto my mobile so I can proved the little monster is mine, just in case stopped. There maybe brisk business in renting the doggy out for walkies.

And when the poor little doggy is so exhausted from all this community walkies, at least you will be able to legally drive it to the vet for treatment!

Given almost everyone in Estepona seems to have one of those white fluffy dogs that look like Russian hats I guess it would be difficult for the police to keep tabs on which is whose.....

(not my mutt, by the way, he is very distinctive.)

Of course there is enough money. The problem is and has always been that it's not spread around enough. Imagine for example, a public hospital with not being able to cope through lack of personal and equipment while down the road a hospital has the required equipment and staff twiddling their thumbs.
Governments will have find some of the resources there. The Spanish government has temporarily nationalised all private hospitals which I believe will be the case in many other countries and more resources will be requisitioned from other industries

I think the solution is not as easy as you think Olive, I have my internet, playing cards, jigsaws, books, music and myriad other stuff to keep me occupied for a certain length of time, what I don't have is a partner so loneliness will soon kick in, there are thousands like me who like to socialise a couple of times a week, and now after only two days I'm bored and unable to get any decent exercise, you have no right whatsoever to criticise people in my position, you are lucky you have someone to share your life with, cherish them, it may not always be so !

 we'll have to start a separate thread for tips on what to do whilst stuck indoors. Must say the spray on cleaner has not done a brilliant job so that's tomorrow morning's activity sorted!

Manchesteral that's very true about being on your own. Do you have family or friends you can video call? It helps just to see someone as your talking I've found. My OH had to go back to the UK for 18 days last month which is one of our longest times apart, and being able to have a WhatsApp video call made a huge difference. You can chat to us

I have been working almost non-stop since Friday. I'm sure once I get into a system it will calm down a little. It seems to me it's easier working normally giving classes in a classroom.

Interesting.
My wife had an appointment for next Monday at Vithas Salud in Rincon.
She just had a phone call from them to say all appointments are cancelled as they will be closed for at least two weeks.
This place has very limited hospital facilities so perhaps they are just closing and not being nationalised.
Cheers

I have lots of friends and family with whom I'm in daily contact, what gets my goat is when people get behind their keyboard and offer vacuous comments about the way other people are handling this problem and that they "don't get it" that's precisely it they don't, thank you for your concern :-)

Nationalise is probably not the best word but here's a summary of what I read. The article I reads yesterday had more details but I can't find it now.

Reinforcements for the health system
Military personnel and health installations will be used to strengthen the national health system across Spain. The Health Ministry will ensure that production centers for health supplies continue to operate, including the temporary intervention of companies, private health establishments and pharmaceutical sector centers

Very true. Just 6weeks ago i lost my father and my mother who is 87yrs old is finding life hard without him sat on the couch next to her, on top of that comes the CV and self isolation from her family which she decided to do yesterday...She is taking the gov advice seriously and it's not going to be easy for her or us either...I will not be staying away but i will be taking extreme care when visiting and running errands..our grandchildren won't be going anywhere near..
I worry about her state of mind and her lonliness, like most people i just wish this Virus had not happened..

Anyone know for certain the situation re making appointments at the drs. a post on our townhall f.book mentions dont come if you are collecting results or doing red tape stuff and then says

"Solicite consulta telephono en su centro de salud para su medico"etc.

Not sure which to read it. Does it mean telephone to make an appointment rather than coming in twice ie one to make an appointment and then coming for it or does it mean you can only have a consultation over the phone? I need a prescription for antibiotics not sure how that would work? Will chemists slack off and let you buy some?

Just checked using the Salud Rsponde app on my phone.
I was able to book an appointment with my doctor at the Torre del Mar health centre.

We all have crosses to bear. elsewhere on here I have posted about my situation seeking advice. I have , because of CV19 and no current prospect of getting back, effectively abandoned my other half in Andalucia in the run up to the pollen season which could well be life threatening to her. Last year she had to go on a ventilator on route (Lerma)to the UK because we left going too late. I am in the UK having had my 94 year old father discharged from hospital with deferred care because he has a serious underlying condition which with daily carers would see him off if he got it from one of them. We have already started our isolation for 70 plus that is coming soon in the UK. On top of that far more serious is the condition of my younger brother who might not see summer with or without contracting CV19. The thought of not being able to visit him only two miles away or worst case not attend his funeral is very hard.
I am well aware of your scenario with not being able to attend your godchilds funeral because of travel restrictions. Quite awful and you too have my sympathy.
I do however still stand by my comment which isn't vacuous. I would love to be in a position to read a few books, watch some TV or a film. I have seen too many healthy folk moaning on various forums say that they will be bored. I would willingly swap two weeks of having to find something to do for a scenario with no known end. It just needs a bit of perspective. Two days gone, 12 to go.
