Coronavirus
Re: Coronavirus
Interesting development on isolation in NewZealand.
An incoming traveller went through the two week government managed isolation in the Pullman hotel. Two negative tests and allowed to leave on 13 th January. She has subsequently tested positive having visited 30 locations.....
Raises quite a few questions in my mind. Just one - is 10 or 14 days isolation long enough?
Still lots more to learn.

Or are the Tests that inaccurate (as has been reported many many times)?

Re: Coronavirus
The question in my mind is 'why are they still using a testing procedure that has been proven to be so grossly inaccurate?'. It just gives an absolute lie to all the figures and statistics upon which the Draconian measures taken by governments around the world have been based.
Re: Coronavirus
Could she have picked it up after leaving quarantine on the 13th? Presumably there are cases in the country?

Just an illustration of the stupidity of people. No matter how many times we are told to keep at home as much as possible and keep away from everyone the brain-dead will ignore all advice until they manage to catch a fatal strain.

Re: Coronavirus
But for how long? The virus is not going to go away just because we are cowering in our homes frightened to step out into the wide world. The best defence against it is to allow our own perfectly adequate immune system to develop and adapt but they want to destroy this by coercing people into accepting an experimental, unsafe, unproven vaccine which achieves absolutely nothing other than attacking and modifying that very same immune system.

Re: Coronavirus
Agreed. In the end we really, deep down, know we will all have to get it and get over it, or not.
Re: Coronavirus
Unlikely. It is New Zealand. They shut their borders and kept it under control. When you read about this persons travels she could be a super spreader.
I think there were less than 100 confirmed cases this month presumably including this traveller. Only about 2,300 cases in last twelve months.

Re: Coronavirus
Exactly, Lavanda, in just the same way as every other disease and virus in the world. The only difference is that other diseases and viruses have not produced the same mass hysteria.
Just to add, this is from an Andalucía.com article:
19-01-2021 Regions received their fourth weeks supply of Pfizer and a small quantity of Moderna vaccine. Total number of vaccine doses delivered to Andalucia so far is 251.420 and the number administered is 210.065 (84%). At this rate (8.079 per day) it will take 6.1 years to vaccinate (two doses) all Andalucia.

"May have all been over with now if there hadn't been mass panic and just treat like a bad flu season."
Or if there had been a complete full lockdown for a month it would have died out?

Did you do full lockdown Peter? I thought you visited UK.
BTW some Scientists say there is no such thing as a super spreader. Fits in with the toxic media though.

I did visit the UK but as I cannot do a lockdown on my own this is irrelevant.

Re: Coronavirus
For those who advocate we just go about normal life and let it spread killing off whoever it kills I have some questions.
How many deaths is an acceptable number? What percentage of the population in terms of excess deaths is acceptable?
In a normal non Covid day in the UK 1,719 people die. If that number were say to double would you advocate action then? If 2 million people die in the UK this year, would that be ok?
What do you think would be the economic and psychological effect be if there are piles of bodies? Would people leave their houses and go to work or would they be scared out of their wits?

Re: Coronavirus
I think 50% of the population is about right according to Black Death and Plague figures — which puts this Covid thing into perspective, doesn't it? Without the Nanny State people would deal with it. They are tougher than governments let you believe.

Re: Coronavirus
Questions for you, Paddy Pumpkin:
If this virus was made in a Chinese lab to kill off the old, sick and unproductive unwanted people in (Chinese) society then maybe we had better keep our hysteria for the next one they make.
If this virus was natural involving crossovers between animals and humans maybe Mother Nature is telling us something? Look how the environment responded rapidly to us not travelling all over the world? Just that one thing and what a difference came about and how quickly. Now we want to get back to ‘normal’. Maybe Mother Nature will smack us much, much harder next time. Maybe this is just a small dress rehearsal? I think humans have lost the plot but, if only we listen, some of us may survive a bit longer.

I can't attempt to answer questions that are not questions
If this virus was natural involving crossovers between animals and humans maybe Mother Nature is telling us something?
Look how the environment responded rapidly to us not travelling all over the world?
Neither of these are actually questions. If you included in the line something like 'do you think....' then it would be a question and you would be asking for my opinion. So I will presume that is what you wanted and I will proceed as such.
I have no specialist knowledge to answer that question. I never expressed any opinion about those subjects because I am in no way qualified or have specialist knowledge in the area to comment on it. So in my opinion my opinion on thise subjects would be worthless, no better than a guy in the pub on Saturday telling Jurgen Klopp what team to pick and what tactics to use. I stick to offering my opinion on subjects I know about and for which I can prove my point of view is correct.

Re: Coronavirus
So you are happy with 50% of the population dying.
What are your objections to the lockdown? Is it the loss of freedom or is it more that you don't want the government to tell you what to do?
