Coronavirus
Re: Coronavirus
I think it's pot luck with the appointments. Everyone I know is waiting for ones at Velez. When my OH needed a chest x-ray before Christmas he got one two days later. When I needed mine in January I had to wait almost 3 weeks. I have a phone appointment with the Dr next week so will ask, but I don't think she has much influence over the hospital administration.
Re: Coronavirus
Seems to be similar everywhere.
Canada. 54% of cancer treatment cancelled.
USA .over 40% of operations cancelled.
Netherlands operations cancelled.
Italy non urgent cases cancelled to free up staff to work with Covid patients.
Germany cancelled on urgent operations.

Re: Coronavirus
I guess it depends what its for wicksey. Ours is only for a cortisone injection so nothing overly important. For the life of me i dont know why the dr/nurse in the village cant do it. Its a hassle and very time consuming standing around in a full waiting room at velez for over and hr.. you would think basic things could and would be done in a surgery
Re: Coronavirus
Perhaps the nurses in the local centres are busy doing the jabs but as you say elusive, it would have been better to go there rather than the hospital. Hopefully things will start to get back to normal, particularly if they're saying you can now see the Dr rather than just a phone appointment.

Re: Coronavirus
It looks as though that won't be quite as straightforward as the JdeA made it out to be, as there are objections from the health workers' organisations being reported today.

Re: Coronavirus
I thought it was very short notice to introduce face to face appointments.
Re: Coronavirus
Checked Clicsalud this morning to find my long awaited specialist appointment .... unfortunately still long awaited as it is 6 weeks away. I happened to speak to my Dr today but she can do nothing to bring it forward "due to Covid it's very complicated". That will make it 3 months since the appointment was requested. I hope I do not become one of the other unseen 'victims of Covid' and end up with permanent nerve damage. She said if the pain or symptoms get worse then I shall have to go to urgencias. Last autumn I was given appointments within a couple of weeks, so it's just bad luck I guess that I've had to wait so long now.

Re: Coronavirus
I imagine you must be pretty frustrated Wicksey and somewhat worried, the waiting just adds to it all....it's not great for people having to wait to be seen, i suppose it will be the same everywhere. Appointments to see any specialist will have been backed up since this pandemic started and i agree it's bad luck..I booked an echocardiogram through the doctors a few weeks back, its an annual check i have for a heart murmur, i thought i would be waiting a long time but i have an appointment for Thursday although not at the usual hospital i attend. I think the waiting depends on who you need to see but if you are in pain Wicksey i'd swap places with you if i could and you could have my appointment slot, i could wait.Wicksey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:45 pm Checked Clicsalud this morning to find my long awaited specialist appointment .... unfortunately still long awaited as it is 6 weeks away. Re: Coronavirus
Here Sid in the Uk, i may have thrown you with my tongue in cheek comment to Wicksey, it was meant out of good intention.
Re: Coronavirus
My Dr knows my situation but doesn't seem to have any influence on hospital appointments. I know I'm not alone and I'm not as badly off as some of my friends. I guess they haven't seen anyone for weeks and so there's a backlog. I have considered going private but in the past we seemed to be pushed from one specialist to another and not received particularly good treatment.
Re: Coronavirus

Re: Coronavirus
According to the Junta website https://www.mapacovid.es/
There are no areas in level 2...even places with zero cases
Press the LEYENDA button on bottom left of the map to see the levels
I guess there will be some new reset of levels again then tomorrow!

Re: Coronavirus
It’s six outside but still 4 inside. The provincial borders are still closed which really p****s me off as 90% of our friends are in Málaga province which is 3 km from where we live!

Re: Coronavirus
Does anyone think that the travel across provincial borders in Andalucia might be lifted at the end of this week?

Re: Coronavirus
Semana Santa is already making people in Extremadura nervous. The influx of people from away, especially Madrid and Barcelona, is always huge at fiesta and holiday time. At the moment we have the lowest number of cases in Spain and we can travel across the two provinces. The inevitable post-holiday peak and new restrictions are already being talked about in the cafés and restaurants.
Re: Coronavirus
The provincial borders should stay closed until after Semana Santa. Surely we must have learnt something from the previous 12 months about large gatherings. When it is religious the Spanish will ignore all social distancing.

Agree, stay closed, don't ruin all the gains...Not much longer and people will have more freedom.
