AZ signing their own death warrant in Europe bit by bit

The head of the Irish health servive has said that their confidence with AZ has been 'rocked'

I can't imagine any other health service in Europe thinks any differently and the stock market agrees. FTSE up 0.17% today, AZ down 2.52%.
Overall AZ is just shy of 50% down on the market now since last October

Perhaps they will allow exports then and stop trying to pinch ours.

In view of the investigation being opened into the possibility of the AZ vaccine being linked to people who have received it developing blood clots (the same issue which caused Austria to withdraw a batch of the vaccine a few days ago), Spain has decided today to postpone making a decision about whether to approve the use of the AZ vaccine for the over 55s.

I am not sure who 'ours' is. Do you mean the supply for Spain entirely or just Andalucia?

AZ will get away for now and sell their vaccine. But the next time someone needs a few hundered million paracetamols per year guess who they won't be buying from. I wonder how many UK jobs that places at risk. I would be interested to see some links to the websites that are recommending buying them as I would like to read what I am missing.

From what i read its 30 cases out of 5 million.Considering the amount of people who need to be vaccinated there won't be a vaccine out there that won't be throwing up some serious side effects in a small minority of people.

There will be more than UK jobs lost if AZ flops. It is being manufactured in 15 countries. America stated today that no AZ jabs will go to Europe until their vaccination programme is complete.

After rows with Australia, UK and a quieter complaint against USA the EU is now fighting amongst themselves. From the Telegraph.

Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Latvia have called for a EU summit to discuss "huge disparities" in the distribution of vaccines, according to a letter published today.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz suggested Friday that some members of the European Union may have signed "secret contracts" with vaccine companies to receive more doses than they were entitled to as per EU-wide agreements.

It must have passed me by that Thailand, Indonesia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are all in the EU - they kept that quiet! All have suspended use of the Astra Zeneca vaccine temporarily, although in the case of Thailand it was only for a few days.

Thank you so much for letting me know, I had never heard that saying before. Did you make it up yourself?
